I know one thing. It’s odd that I’m really liking the playoffs so far without a dog in the race. I can flip back and forth and watch all of the series. Last night was the most fun I had watching playoff hockey in I don’t know how long. I love this game, even more so in playoffs where games really matter. Really interesting opening night Tampa up 3-0 and end up losing 4-3. Happy for Dallas, Bishop has the ability to win series on his own. Tonight original 6 matchup with the Leafs at Bruins. Should be a good one, I think I want Toronto to win this one as I hate Marchand

I'm a bit surprised by Tampa. They essentially have gotten their asses kicked for 5 of 6 periods. Prettyboy hockey doesn't work in the playoffs unless you're willing to work to win one on one puck battles or have some grit/moxie. After gettin down 0-3 in game 1 Columbus is winning every battle and being physical. The lightning look bad and the Bus ins mind'effing them big time. All that TB skill and confidence is shot.
Good thing it takes 4 games to win a series so TB can turn it around in game 3. In all honestly Torts teams can't seem to sustain that level of play...only so much blood you can squeeze out of rock -- the players wear down mentally from being pushed by Torts continually.

wow...both Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh are down 0-3 facing elimination in a clean sweep and making T-times for Wednesday Aside from some blowouts so far round one series have been pretty entertaining.

Yeah - Tampa Bay kinda reminds me of, well, us some years. Win the Presidents Trophy - out in the first or second round. Yzerman doesn't have that experience and insight, not on a GM level. Holland does. Can you say Tyler Bertuzzi ??

Tells you its tough to win the cup..but SY did his job. Now..what about Cooper ??

Stevie deserves all the credit for the deals he made to build the Tampa Bay Lightning back into an elite level team. They really are the best team in the league. I think what happened to TB is they really had no adversity throughout the season and coasted into the playoffs. Columbus had already elevated the level play the last week or 2 of the regular season. When Tampa jumped to a 3 goal first period lead in game 1 two things happened. 1-Tampa lost respect for the opponent and thinking they'll have an easy first round and 2-Torts made adjustments and got his team on track to believe in themselves that will beats skill w/o will

I also give SY credit. But he still hasn't won anything. And I still think Holland has one more cup in Detroit in him. We'll see. I'm really looking forward to the draft this year and the season to start later. I think we will be an up and coming team and surprise a few people. Holland is the master chess player - he always has a plan.
BTW, SY's record as GM in Tampa is below: Most of the time they miss the playoffs or get bounced in the first round.
2019 Lost First Round (Won 0 Rounds) 2018 Lost Conference Finals (Won 2 Rounds) 2017 Missed Playoffs 2016 Lost Conference Finals (Won 2 Rounds) 2015 Lost Stanley Cup Final (Won 3 Rounds) 2014 Lost First Round (Won 0 Rounds) 2013 Missed Playoffs 2012 Missed Playoffs 2011 Lost Conference Finals (Won 2 Rounds)

2009 WTF have we done since? Nothing but stinking and sinking.
We learned to accept the gradual decline from the NHL elite, to mediocrity and then on to totally sucking in the basement of the league. Continuing to rub Kenny Hollands balls based on the past is not wise here, he isn't winning another cup in Detroit. He's complacent, riding on past success thinking he's relevant in today's NHL...he isn't. Dead Thing 2.0 until he's is gone. Until we purge KH, Blashill we'll never win shit and no making the playoffs is mediocrity, not winning.
Yes we have some promise in our future with a handful of quality players but we have no depth in talent, no elite defense or goaltending and you won't win with either of those elements. I don't lower the bar, the goal is the cup and that isn't anywhere in sight for us.

Blashill can thanks KH for his career. 6 seasons of contracts, none of them worthy…
KH is the Santa Claus of the NHL...
