Not seeing Red Wings Wilson on the ice for practice.
RedWings in practice:
Mantha-Zetterberg-Nyquist Tatar-Larkin-Abdelkader Helm-Nielsen-Glendening Frk-Athanasiou-Booth
look where AA is ! I'm sure he is a happy camper. Unless he dearly wants to play at center, AA should be with Tats and Larks instead.

They need to keep Larkin-Mantha-AA together...its the only good thing we have...roll 3 lines

Calgary lineup is really impressive, I did not even realize that.

Red Wings projected lineup
Gustav Nyquist -- Henrik Zetterberg -- Anthony Mantha Tomas Tatar -- Dylan Larkin -- Justin Abdelkader Darren Helm -- Frans Nielsen -- Luke Glendening Scott Wilson -- Andreas Athanasiou -- Martin Frk Jonathan Ericsson -- Trevor Daley Niklas Kronwall -- Mike Green Xavier Ouellet -- Nick Jensen Petr Mrazek Jimmy Howard Scratched: Luke Witkowski, David Booth Injured: Danny DeKeyser (ankle)
That is some kind of ankle problem by DK...don't want to blame anyone but..what's up with our training staff (i guess i just did)?

Nice rebound off the Jagr shot We started nice...couple mistakes and we’re down by 2 after 1 period. We don’t do well when we don’t score the first goal. Big 2nd period. Put Mantha-Larkin-AA together, shorten the bench and even this up. Mrazek is gonna have to be perfect for 50+ minutes

5-3 I’m not watching the 3rd period. It will take miracle to get a point outta this thing. I don’t know why we went back to Mrazek. It’s looking like 2 win in a row is all that we’re capable of.
We’re a turnover machine and Mrazek isn’t being a mistake eraser.
I’ll keep hope alive but not expecting anything.
Mantha looks good!

best display of offense of the season. Best domination of the season, except 10 minutes late in the first.
Mrazek was very bad on the first two goals that made the team doubted. A dumb peewee B rebound on the first. Suddenly the team wasnt confident anymore.
Why oh why do we have to start a critical PP with the Z-NY-Tats and Kroner group on the ice when it simply DOESN'T WORK !! From now on they have to start EVERY PP with Green on the ice and a combination of Larks-Mantha and Frk-AA. I just don't understand why Blashill doesnt see that ??
its going to take a while before Mrazek gets another start. Tonight we got beaten by a better goalie.

I'm sure you watched the third, and if you didnt you missed a good display of puck control by the Wings. I like that period even though we didn't score. Smith was great Mrazek was...himself ?

Entertaining game, good effort. Watching the game I was thinking the score is just wrong and it should have been 6:3 in our favor. Mrazek was shaky. Even before the first goal he was allowing juicy rebounds on pretty much every shot. Mantha was great except a big mistake at the end. I think we all agree now that our “first PP” unit with the collection of our slowest players has to be modified. Z had another below average game and just can’t win a faceoff these days. And I agree with all Pierre said, but I am not blaming Mrazek for the second goal. Z just cannot lose a faceoff so cleanly and then they allowed Flames best forward just to walk right into the middle and there was also a screen.

I actually didn't watch the 3rd. I get up at 5am for work. I saw enough of how we were playing to know how it would end. If I felt we had a chance I would have stayed up for it. We battled back but each time we did Mrazek couldn't make a save and didnt have it going on last night. I'll cut him some slack on the second goal, he was totally screened...Z lost the draw cleanly, Kronner or no one else put a body on the man heading to the net. I didn't like him on the Jagr goal, yeah it was a 2 on 1 but still he didnt read it well Jags shouldnt score on that one. Every time I have hope for this team we end up losing. W2, L1, W2, L6, W2, L1, W2, L1 and counting. As I said before we're a .500 team at that but if we can't grab points against the weaker teams like Calgary then we may end up below .500..you guessed it, we're 8-8-1 Mantha and Larkin are our leaders, they should be on PPU 1. Hank trying but he's old and becoming a defensive liability...I don't know how many goals I've seen this year where it was Hanks man who scored. We can't keep giving him 20 minutes a night. The kids should get first crack on the power play. Funny how Frk'inA is the second in goal scoring with 11 mins ave TOI yet he wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for AA holding out...what does that tell you on personnel selection? Its going to be a painful season unless we make some changes.

Plenty of mistakes on the second goal but it was a weak shot, Mrazedk was already down and deep, it was a shot to stop at that moment. In the meantime Smith had many more difficult saves to make. On Mantha's turnover late in the game i believe he didnt know the net was empty, otherwise he wouldnt have tried that.

I only watched the first period and a little of the second. I though Mrzak looked uncomfortable on many of the saves he made. He just seemed to be fighting the puck.

Red Wings' Justin Abdelkader out with fractured cheekbone
Should we cry or celebrate ?

Red Wings' Justin Abdelkader out with fractured cheekbone Should we cry or celebrate ? Did he fall down on his face or was he face-butting fists again? I’m not a fan of Ab-duh-kade but I won’t celebrate an injury. This will create opportunities for others to step up. Plus we won’t take as many stupid penalties with Abby gone
