I'll miss it...back to back day games on a weekend...hell with that I got shit to do.
With Helm and Ab-duh-kader out the Wings savoir Dominic Turgeon has been recalled. Hope the name on the back gives him some scoring power in his NHL debut.
I haven't seen the lineup but I assuming that Mrazek is starting.
I guess during the bye week we lost any mojo or momentum we ever had.
Sorry man, we're straight up mediocre.
We end the season with 80-85 points and miss the playoffs for the second straight year, no surprises but since we were 1 point better than last season at this time then that is enough for Kenny Holland to "like" his team and keep on stckin to it and us lol
Go Team! Lets start NEXT season NOW. Try to get something, anything, a used puck bag or better for Green other than just a 6 million dollar cap hit reduction.
Time to fire Blashill and Holland...we're reaping in his GM crap.
Neilson (panic signing) $6m = 15points Tatar $6m = 19points Abby $5.5m = 21points Mrazek $4.15m = 3 wins, 3.78 GAA and .885 SV%
I'll also throw DeKeyser out there at $5.5m he is fairly invisible.

You are in a good mood today Shawn lol
Let's try to enjoy what's left of this season...if there is anything enjoyable ! lol
Nothing much going on as far as news are concern about this game. One thing is for sure..there is no morning skate !
Unless....you consider what you saw yesterday..a morning skate ? lol

Now it's time to sit Mrazek for a month !
..seriously, i think their is Something to do with Mrazek. His problem has to be a mental one, his speed, his skills set should be enough for him to be the Wings goalie for the next few years.
We won't gain anything long term by trading Mrazek and keeping Howard.
So...when february 28th comes in...gone Howard ! ..if their is a taker !
Turgeon was really impressive. Let's say that i wasn't to enthusiastic in the first when our beloved coach only use him in the PKs. But our great coach woke up and suddenly Lil Bert and Turgeon got more ice time...
We are still a mess in our zone but this time we didnt allow any passing lanes in front of our net...and with a bit luck we got the two points.

and i loved Jensen's game today, probably his best as a Wings. The Hawks forecheck hard but are not physical...it helped Jensen to feel more...secure !

We were really missing Abby, Helm and Glen. We could not contain Chicago forwards at all. Lack of leadership was obvious and PK was really missing the $10 mil triio. In the third there was nobody to put on the ice to protect the lead. Instead the players decided to spend more time in Chicago zone and increase the lead, that was pretty stupid on their part. Bert and Turgeon obviously not ready yet. OK, I know it’s only 1 game, but I still could not resist.

Just getting boom boom off the ice was probably a big improvement. I missed the game, by the way. Had it on my calendar for 7:00 pm for some reason.

Our team is working on special teams today. I think it's about time to mix the units. Z unit has trouble entering the zone, but are decent when they are in the zone. Larkin unit has no trouble entering the zone, but after they do that, Larkin and AA now decided they need to do no look passes to no one in particular and trying to needle the pass through 5 players (learning from Z and Nyquist?). The bottom line it just does not make sense to have 2 slowest players on our team on one unit and 2 fastest players on our team on the other unit. Not big changes are needed, just try to switch AA and Tatar to start and Kron and Green. Kron is a master of a drop pass, so he can give it to Larkin. Green should not be really used like that, he can help entering the zone by his skating ability.

when Kroner-Z-Ny are on the ice for the PP they always gettin in the zone the same way. Kroner goes back behind his goal to pick up the puck, loses valuable time waiting for everyone to set, Z skates near him, dont touch the puck, makes a sharp turn along the board on the left side while Kroner skates to center and then he passes it to Z who gets into the zone..looking around...and around...and around, and then pass it back to Kroner.
Larks line may be off the wall, but at least it's entertaining !
