Mrazek is the starter.
Islanders played and lost last night so I anticipate them having more jump than us and probably end up kicking our asses..... since we never win when we play a team that played the previous night.
I'd be fine with Hank and Kronner hanging them up after this season but I bet they don't. Good news is Z's salary goes from 7 mil to 3.35 and Kronner from 3.5 to 1.75 so at least that will help the cap situation along with 6 mil from Green. We have to sign AA, Larkin and Mantha.

i'm not good with cap rules, but isn't it the cap hit that count ? Even if his wages goes down to 3.35 isn't it the cap hit that count ? witch is 6 something ?

yeah cap hits are different based on the deal. While Hanks salary this season is 7 mil his cap hit is 6.083 for this season. I don't know what actual cap hits will be for the 2018/2019 season yet.

The cap hit is the yearly average of the entire length of the contract...so it really doesn’t matter if his salary for next year drops to 3.5 mil or whatever it is....his annual average salary over the length of the contract was like 6 mil or something like that, so that’s what the cap hit is every year

Yeah...6 and some change current cap hit. I love Hank, he’s a hof’er who earned it so I’ll cut him slack He is still a good player really but shouldn’t be getting 20 minutes a night as a #1 center.

You cannot make this shit up! Hell of a 3rd period. A 5-2 lead in the 3rd within a few minutes turns into 7-6 OT LOSS!

Tyler should feel like a goat? WTF? If I was him I'd be calling out my team mates for allowing 4 goals in one PP. One effing power play. One. Like Shawn said, you can't make this shit up.

And our great captain got a goal tonight. His 7th or some effing stat like that.
I don't like our team right now.

I don’t blame Bertuzzi for taking a penalty there, stupid yes. I don’t think that slash was worth a major penalty.

first of all i've never seen an end of a game like this one since the Dead thing in the mid 70s. I remember a game back then when we had a 4 zip lead with 4 minutes to play in Pittsburgh..and lost 5-4 !! This one tonight was similar. Second of all...how come Green, who every teams in the NHL is suppose to go after at TDL..but not good enough to play during that infamous 4 or 5 minutes ?? Are DK and Jensen that great defensively to be on the ice basically without leaving the last 5 minutes of the game ?? Are Abby, Glen, Helm defensive game worthy of the ice time they got late in the game ? Sometimes these guys need a break !! Kroner didnt sniff the ice late in the game, same for Green. Of course they are not magical on defense BUT THEY CAN PROVIDE SOME VALUABLE REST FOR THE OTHERS ! As soon as the Islanders got the go ahead goal Green and Z were on the ice. Is AA that bad defensively ? bad enough to sit basically the whole third period ? He was the only one who can make the Islander D think ! Frk was good early but not good late in the game..is his defensive game that bad ? Is Abby, Helm and Glen and much better trio, deserving all the ice at the end ?? We ran out of juice in the end, of course..the same players were always on the ice. And in OT..why Nyguist hung to the puck forever just in front the goal ? Passing behind...looking for what SHOOT GDMit !!! And Mrazek wasnt bad, maybe on a couple of goals, the second comes to mind.... And thank you Lil Bert for being soooo discipline soooo selfish ! By the way your lease in downtown Detroit is cancelled !! Your going back to GR. Afterall what have you done for the team lately? Showing frustration leading 5-2 ?? Anyways i don't think i can handle stuff like that any longer...

Well can you say about a game like this. Pierre is correct; this is similar to the 70s era. Wings need some top drafts and to shed some veteran salary. The top 6 in the draft are supposed to be good players but there is a drop off after that. Holland needs to trade some players even if he doesn't get a lot in return. The money saved will get a decent free agent in the future and the more picks you have the better chance you have of getting a diamond in the rough. Don't like to see the Wings lose but you have to be realistic about what's happening.
Green - needs to be traded because he does have value. Either Tats or Nyquist- if you get something reasonable in return. Helm or Abby- Ok - you need some vet presence on the team but you don't need both these guys. Howard or Mrazek - I think there is some value in either of these two as a backup for a playoff run so see what you can get.

That was a ridiculous call on the penalty to Bertuzzi. He should have got 2 for slashing and Clutterbuck's cheap shot should have gotten him 2 for roughing....and maybe 2 more for acting.

You’re up 5 - 2 and you lose 7-6. That says a lot about the character of Detroit’s locker room including whether Mrazek is actually ready to be a number one guy
