OK - I'll start with an announcement - I'm watching the fucking game tonight! It's a late one but a Friday so I'm staying up.
Going to key in on a few things just for grins. Ice time and effectiveness of the C and A's. Pierre is saying AA is floating and I haven't watched some games so will key in on that. Going to drink a shot every time Abby falls down. Want to try to evaluate the movement on the PP. That's the first period. After that, drink beer and hide behind the couch....

he Red Wings will look to snap an eight-game winless streak (0-7-1), but with each loss they improve their odds to move up in the draft lottery.
Jimmy Howard tries to end a personal six-game losing streak that dates back to a 3-2 overtime victory at the New York Rangers on Feb. 25, the team's last win. Howard is 10-5-2 lifetime vs. the Ducks, with a 2.18 goals-against average, .927 save percentage and three shutouts.
Anaheim is coming off a 3-0 victory over Vancouver, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Richard Rakell leads the Ducks with 30 goals and 59 points.

Yeah, good passion, Brent. This almost seems to be watershed moment for this team. Just in time to ruin their sinking to a high position in the lottery draft.

I liked the 3 fights and was hoping Getzlaff and E would have dropped the mitts. This was actually an entertaining game to watch. I thought we played fairly well, same silly mistakes but for the most part was a good road game.
Bad night for Ericsson -4 and Daley a -3.
Ottawa just past us (technically) in the standings. The once mighty Red Wings are now in 28th place in a league of 31....let that sink in folks.
I find it funny Blashill talking about they wake up every day and prepare to win a hockey game -- they do nothing different today than they did for game 1 of the season......hey coach we're 71 games in, we have 63 points, we were out of the playoffs in the first week of November and you may want to try to change how the fuck you operate as obviously it is not working. It didnt work all of last season either.

Yes it has sunk in but it's a good thing now. The worst case scenario is ending up 9th with these players and getting a lower level pick. Right now the Wings should get (if the percentages work out, a top 4 pick with an outside chance of the number one guy. Once the lottery is done perhaps the Wings use a number of their draft choices to move up to take him. No point in the dude going to Arizona.
The Wings are giving an effort and their not getting blown out 12-2 like they did in the 70s. This team can turn it around in 2 to 3 years but it is done through the draft and smart signings. If Kenny H is not up to the task then someone else needs to take the reigns and get it done. I'm okay with 2 or 3 poor years if I can see a future. The team needs to get younger and tougher. Joe Sakic was patient in Colorado and the team looks like they will be in the playoffs and a tough out. Need the same course of action.
Regarding the fighting last night, it was something this team needed. I don't want to see it every night but it was good to see guys stand up to Kesler and Perry.

on the 4th goal..funny that Ozzy totally blamed Mantha for his lazy defensive work in front of Howard.
Makes sense...
BUT
Where was E on the play ? What Daley doing ??
Have you ever seen a forward skating around a bunch of white pylônes so easily ??
Wonder why Howard broke his stick ...

Pretty sad when a little guy like Nyquist is the only player who doesn't like the opponent getting in our crease.
