Wings up 4-1 early in the 2nd period. If Wings win out and if the tie breaks go against them it is possible to become the 10th pick overall before the lottery assigns the position. There is a drop off after the top 5 or 6 picks according to a TSN analyst. Overall it is a deep draft but a top five pick would be nice. Wings might have to trade up and I think that's a good idea seeing that they have 7 picks in the first 3 rounds including 2 first round picks.

i think our coach got orders from above to lose this one...Abby on the ice in OT ?? come on...
and Kroner to ??
from mid second period this team was a total mess..
the last shift in OT. .our 3 forwards caught behind the opponent's goal...way to go guys !!
Tanking is in order..but it was an ugly last 30 minutes. We totally stopped skating after the 4th goal..
Mantha had a good start then dissappeared, same for AA

Well Wings lose it in OT. The loss hurts the team now but it may help them in the long term. Two more games left against Montreal and NYI.

4-1 turns into 4-5 yikes.
Funny Mickey mentioned Columbus were down 4-1 late and got a point after losing in OT to Vancouver
2 to go!

At least they only got a point. But like jarvis posted they may need to trade up. The Wings NEED to acquire GREAT players and it appears as though the draft may be the only way. I still dream of getting a Seth Jones type of player.

I am sure we will end up with less liottery chances than Chicago and Edmonton as they are not planning to win any more games I am sure and we are winning the last 2 at home.

it takes only one chance to get Dahlin.
What's the difference between 10 % or 20 % ?? yeah..twice the chances you might say, but in the end it takes only one chance and you need to be darn Lucky to have it.
Even at 18 % it's not even one chance out of 5 !
As long as we draft at top 5 i will be happy. And yes a trade to improve our first pick would be great. Id give my 2 first round pick for Dahlin. Don't expect KH to be creative though....

Its a a pretty deep draft and any of the top 5 have a good chance of being impact players for sure. Montreal and NY Islanders will be trying to lose when they play us, I'd like to drop them. Watch Chicago lose their last games and we win ours. Chicago will end up getting the pick we want We're plagued with bad luck and as much as it pains me to say it, with KH and Blashill back we're in for more bad luck as I have low confidence in their abilities to rebuild.

And that's the key here - top 5 pick. Big difference between top 5 pick and top 10 pick. Oilers, Hawks, Senators, Canadiens are doing everything to increase their chances at top 5 pick. We are doing everything to move down in the draft:( Last 2 games, play Coreau and bench any impact player we have (about 3 of them) and just lose. Of course, there is karma and I sometimes think if we lose on purpose, the gods will be angry at us, but it will be sad if Chicago gets our pick as #13 said.
