Pierre hasn't started a 2018 Draft Forum so let's talk about it here. I've never really been interested in one of these until this year, which is HUGE for our hockey future. supposedly NBC will be streaming it live: www.nbcsports.com/video?cid=sbnI really hope we draft some TOP d-men, especially if we get the #1 pick. |

We dropped a notch to #6 - crap, no luck for us since we hit the Datsyuk lottery. At least we have a lotta picks.

Wings will get a good player with the 6th pick.
The first three rounds will be of interest to all Wing fans as they have 7 picks including 2 first rounders.
Looking around the league you see a number of young guys making a difference who were not a top three pick. Guys like DeBrusk from Boston who killed Toronto in game seven.
Wings have to get rid of some of the vets over the next year or two. Some will retire but others should be traded if possible. This is a team in transition but I think it will be an exciting period as the transition happens.

Agreed, I'm excited about this draft and the upcoming years. I'll be so glad when some of the current players get traded, retire or otherwise leave the team.

Well, I expect to be disappointed in our selections since we can't seem to do much of anything right the last several seasons and w/o a GM or coach change there will be no change worth mentioning as it will lead to the same results as last season and the same results of the season before that. I can't get "excited" about anything Detroit Red Wings or Tigers as they both suck now thanks to Illitches who are looking more and more like the Ford family of ownership who loves profitability of mediocrity ...no point on winning...that shit cost money

---I honestly do not know who this guy is, but if he was a Red Wings rookie, he would still be in GR. Whoever we pick at #6 will play for us in 2-3 years. Just last week KH said young guys will only play if they are NHL ready, so our rebuilding will have to wait another 2 years if KH decides to leave in 2 years. Regarding #6 pick, from what I am reading, I guess I want Bouchard.

I kind of out of the loop and haven't watch more than 10 minutes of hockey since our last game.
Is there any way we can trade up by trading 2-3 of our picks for one higher pick?
