we're geo-blocked in the States so cannot watch the video. Stevie had some excellent highlight reels. Aside from seeing him grab the Cup and hoist it for the first time one of the biggest goals for me was the late into the night OT Winner against St. Louis from a slapper just inside the blue line.

funny but that OT winner by SY Always brought bad memories...yes the Blues were out..but we lost the next round to the Avs..and that i remember !
I much prefer the 7-0 spanking of the Avs in 2002 before we get to the finals..that brought great memories !

Yes, we didn't make the turn to excellence and was painful not going deeper in that playoff year. I liked beating the Aves too and my favorite highlight is Patty Roy doing the statute of liberty thinking he had the puck in his glove...he didn't, puck was laying there and I believe Hommer banged it in ...I literally laughed my ass off on tha one

I thought it was Shanny and someone else that converged on Roy after the failed Statue of Liberty play and both poked at it and it went in. Looked it up, yep Shanny's goal. I think the other guy converging on Roy was Federov. Jeez, those were the days. Video below - enjoy.

Don't know why I always think it was Hommer I guess because that was his kind of goal. Cool hearing Gary Thorn and Bill Clement on that clip

can't Believe he is blue...can't Believe Chelios is now a HAWK!!! How can you deal with sports when you see those kind of moves ?? You think SY is a Wings for ever...but noooo !! one GM said "i'm selfish i'm not leaving my job" ...the rest is history… ...and now Chelios back to Chicago ?? what oh man...what you can you say ? ..seriously...you play/coah for one team since 99 and then in a heatbeat your back working for Chicago ?? i don't get it..sorry.

Stevie Y still hasn't won shit as a GM. And his window is narrowing. Meanwhile Mr. Holland is stockpiling draft picks. Holland is a master chess player. Looking forward to his next moves. If he can bring even 1 more cop to Detroit he will surely cement himself as the greatest hockey GM in history.
I like our prospects.

Kenny Holland may in fact bring one more "cop" to Detroit but I don't see any Stanley Cups in the immediate future
