So far, my picks suck... but I am having fun watching this year.
Sens > Pens in 6....... please
Preds > Ducks in 6
btw= as long as the Pens do not win the Cup= I'll be fine with it.

Pittsburgh have learned how to win as an organization. You could see that Washington doesn't have that yet despite seemingly having more talent. I still have a bad taste over the last Stanley cup win of Pit over the Wings. - Pitt won game seven against a Capital team that received zero PPs at home while Pit had 4 PPs on the road. Hmmm. - Malkin not being suspended after the game two fight. It was supposed to be automatic. -20 to 25 second (can't remember actual time) of Pitt playing with an extra man on the ice and the refs not calling a penalty (did the refs tell the team to get a player off the ice?) -the series was supposed to start a few days later and the Wings needed that extra time due to injury and then Butthead Bettman moved the schedule up.
So- Crosby is the golden boy and while he is a great player I still say there are others who have been and continue to be better. Up until this year I would take Towes and Datsyuk over him and right now I'd take McDavid over everyone.
So...let's go Ottawa and pull off the upset and rub it into the faces of Leaf fans everywhere.

I was 2 of 4 for round 2.
I hate seeing Pittsburgh still in the mix.
Pittsburgh over Ottawa in 6 Anaheim over Nashville in 7
Pittsburgh over Anaheim in 7 for the anointed one to raise his 3rd cup...fuck that is depressing

The NHL has to do something about getting some more scoring. Pitt and Ottawa are 0-0 half way through the 2nd. This looks like yet another 2-1 game and possibly into OT.
The Anaheim - Oiler series has a lot of goals but and the Ottawa - Ranger series had a few but most games are 3 goals or less if you take away empty netters. It's hard to watch hockey when your team is not in and there is a goal every three hours.

I used to think hockey was way more exciting than baseball. Not sure why, I was a younger guy then. Not so any more. Hockey = boring ...

Did you see the Phaeuf hit on Rust last night? if he hit Crosby like that (even fairly clean but the head was principal point of contact) I bet they would have given him a major and a game.
I've been enjoying the 1-0, 2-1 games more that 5-4 games myself. In the Ott / Pitt series it is crazy tight, both teams have offense but hardly anything is getting by the netminder which leads to that is the issue with goal scoring.
Lets look ta the size of the goalies today vs the goalies of the 70-80's early 90's. Physically they are large athletic types. That coupled with increase in the equipment and jersey's they wear over the years a 6'5" 200lb goalie just standing in position leaves very little holes to shoot at. Heck they can go down in the butterfly and still cover the top corners. With the technology today in pads super lightweight and will stop a bullet we have get these guys gear down to closer to player. You have players all blocking the same damn shots as the goalie yet they don't have overinflated pads over entire of their bodies.

I like Ottawa. Karlsson is just so fun to watch and Ryan has been magnificent in the playoffs.

How about the Banjo Pickers of Nashville in the Cup Finals? I'm rooting for them and I sure as hell hope they're not in the Finals but I think Pittsburgh finishes off Ottawa tonight...(I sure hope I'm wrong.

Ottawa-Pens was a great game yesterday. Too bad Senators lost, but objectively Pens were maybe 10% better. Pretty impressive they are doing it without their #1 dman and without a top 6 forward in Hornquist. For Ottawa I loved watching Karlsson, Ryan and Turris in these playoffs.
