The Detroit Red Wings today re-signed center Dylan Larkin to a five-year contract at 6.1 a year.
humm...let's say that i wasnt expected to see the annual wages to be over 6..but hey..its KH !!
I think its one million too much..

I agree. I was expecting a little over 5, but definitely not 6. Haven't we learned our lesson about paying guys for how good they might get someday?

I'm fine with 6 mil for 5 yrs for Larkin. He;s still a bit green but in my opinion the best hockey player currently on the team. In 2 years 6 million will be a steal for the guy. I hope, along with Larkin that he can play his entire career here.
I think it we get the vets out of the picture and give the reins to Larkin he'll get better. Certain players will defer to vets and this can cause some development delays.
But now we're a million over the cap;)

I don't know why but I'm still not sold on Larkin. I do think he will improve, though, with better younger line mates. So maybe I'll be proven wrong. I sort of agree with Wedge. We're paying for what we hope he will become.
