watching the first few shifts of the game i knew Something like that was brewing, as we were, AGAIN, not interested in engaging a decent battle with Washington.
This team was AGAIN not ready to compete. Refuse to skate, refuse to play the man refuse to engagne physically. Don't let you fool by the shots clock we got ours when the game was already over.
A despicable, shameful, disgraceful performance tonight. So for those of you who think we might have a shot at Jack Hughes...maybe your right !

For me it was over on the second goal when Mike Green chose the wussie route, heard footsteps and shied away from contact on a usual dump in play.
I have seen enough pucks hit the back of our net from deflections off of OUR players this season that I care to see. Perhaps we should change the shot blocking strategy and just clear the lane and focus on the man not the puck. These deflections are usually off of shots from the point. Any netminder worth his weight will stop pucks from the top of the circles to the blue line will stop the puck if he sees the shooter.
We weren't anywhere near a hockey game last night.

Thought exactly the same on Green "refusal to play". He totally blew the play and overall we look sooo dumb on that goal that i said " we are in for a long evening "...

BUT
It's probably unfair to blame Green for anything lately as he has been our best defenseman since his return from injury.
I think he is now playing his best hockey since he joined the Wings...

Yeah - I remember yelling at myself to "get that guys number" and it was Green. Cholowski was in the mix too. But Green really got beat like a rented mule.

I'm not blaming Green for the loss, that was just one goal but it told me what type of night we may have in store Green IS playing really good this season and would like to off load his salary and and get an asset or two at the trade deadline for him.

O is unstoppable these days...even at 33. He has to slow down at some point but 33 certainly is not the age.
