Veleno was in the line-up today against Swiss but didn't play the same half of the game. I thought he was injured...it was not the case ! Hope he can bounce back tomorrow but Canada doesn't need them, they have a stack up line-up full a future stars.
McIssac was there too, was not on the top D pairing but was on the ice in the last second with the Swiss goalie out. Right now McIsaac is considered a Bottom pairing.
Great pic by Vegas, Cody Glass is a darn good one..

Today Canada played the Czech so 3 of our prospects were on the ice.
Some notes..
Zadina..well..Zadina was...to be very polite...quiet !, very quiet. One little scoring chance and that's it, even though he was on the first swing of every PP
Veleno is getting better..but still very little icetime. In the third he set the 4th goal beautifully, had some good rushes and one breakaway. He look good..but Don't expect much from him as Hunter basically plays 6 forward and 3 Ds. McIsaac was solid in his very little icetime. I love his vision, his solid first pass.
Canada won 5-1. But if this coach continues to play the same forwards they'll eventually run out of gas.
Let's wait and see..Russia next !

I thought Veleno looked really good after taking some heat from the coach for his previous game. He went through the whole team on one occasion but didn't finish. Too bad because it was a highlight reel play. He looked good on a couple of other plays as well. Great skater but his scoring touch might need a little work (although they said during the game he has 31 points in his last 9 league games in the Quebec Major Juniors). McIsaac got away with a head shot against a Czech player....no penalty on the play. However, I see they caught it on camera and he's suspended for the New Year's Eve game against Russia. As you say, Zadina did absolutely nothing. I know it's only one game but I hope this isn't a glimpse into his future. We need this kid to be the sniper that he's supposed to be.
