yeah, fair to fail is what I've been seeing on our draft choices.

I'm trying to stay positive about our picks. In the past we have done quite well. In recent years Holland has been stocking up on picks, giving us a better chance. In the past we traded a lot of picks away. In the past we picked a lot of great players low in the draft:
Federov 74th Lidstrom 54th Konstantinov 221st Holmstrom 257th Datsyuk 171st Hank 210st Osgood 54th Koslov 45th Kronwall 29th
Several of those players will be HOF'ers. None picked in the top 25 overall.
Call it what you will but it is a rebuild.

By the way, reading a lot about the draft, nobody is giving us good marks with some saying we had a terrible draft. Our best pick universally is considered the goalie we took at #88. But, of course, we will know in 3-5 years on all of them. I've read before that our past drafts were great ....where are these players now ?? Let's wait. Nobody can predict the future of these picks. I would have pick Lilljgren as our first pick cause i've seen him play and like him. But... Let give the brass a chance...

The top 5-10 players usually become decent NHL'ers these days. It really is a crap-shoot as some highly regarded players can't compete as well as pros at the NHL level. Some lower, overlooked picks can develop, flourish become HoF'ers
