there is another game tonight... state Howard is in starter's net plus Mantha and Athanasiou are on the ice too. Howard..third starts in a row ? A few bad goals certainly doesn't change anything for him..but when it happens to Bernier..he sits ! You Wonder Why Howard doesn't want to be traded...NO OTHER team in this leagues take good care of their vets like the Wings do...

..and that Howard goes to the ASG. Lines as they practiced yesterday. #RedWings Nyquist-Larkin-Bertuzzi Vanek-Nielsen-Mantha Abdelkader-Glendening-Helm Rasmussen-de la Rose-Ehn Frk, Megan (extras) Defense: Kronwall-Jensen Cholowski-Witkowski Ericsson-Hronek Lashoff (extra) Will we end the losing streak or extend it to 7 games? 25th place..we need to make the lottery again

AA is uncannily good at high speed break aways and finishing. It's his thing. Might be among the best in the league at it, I would dare say. Like Homer, just uncannily good at tipping picks into the net. Think game 7 against the Avs (what year?) when he tipped that pick in while falling down against Roy that started us down the path to the Stanley.

On another note, I have my plane ticket and room booked for the Red Wings game in Montreal 3/12/19. Pierre and I have not yet bought game tics. Hoping some others can join. Dick? Shawn? We're not getting any younger, gents, would be a lot of fun.

I see an inflection within the force. This team just became Dylan Larkin's team. I used to watch Stevie Y score the game winning goals. He was our go to guy. Not so much with Hank, at least in his waning years.
Man, I'm torn between wanting this team to be great NOW, or maybe suck and get a lottery pick. Rousing game tonight. Would like to see more.

funny what it does to you when one important forward comes back. Mantha pushed Lil Bert with Larks and Gus…and Good Ol Abby down to the Bottom..with 10 minutes of icetime ! Too bad our little coach didn't understand that before…
This new aligment of the lines created a good balance, passes were clicking more...and again Abby was out of the picture !
Its finally a win but AGAIN when was the last time we won in regular ?.. It Always had to come after a backbreaking goal late in the game…
Anyway i thought we played well overall, good flow, good work as a unit. Let's win the next 35 and win the cup..

First of all, good effort by the team tonight and they got rewarded with the win. Having said all that they still need more depth especially on defense so it's better in the long run for the Wings to get another solid draft this year. No way can they climb up in the standings to get a playoff spot. Too many teams to pass and the wings have played more games than most.
Larkin - becoming a leader. Mantha - hey, isn't this the way we want a big guy to play. Cholo and Hronek - looks like they will be Wings for a long time. Other- team has a number of trade bait players like Nyquist, Howard, Jensen, Kronner and maybe one other vet.
Watching the world juniors you can see a number of guys who will be NHL players. Wings still need to play for the future at least one more year.

Pierre, you're call. I'd just go for it for our tics in a day or 2.

Very entertaining game tonight. All of our goals were nice ones, especially AA's and Larkin's. Chris you're right.....AA is right up there with the best in the league at scoring great breakaway goals. It's strange to me that he's not generally in our first round of shooters in the shootout. Have you ever seen a team give up as many goals with the goalie pulled as we do. Even when we were great we seemed to give up a lot of those. We need to work on our 2 man breakaways and our 3 on 1's....we had a chance to bury them but didn't even get a shot on net on either one of those plays...and that's pretty hard to do. Hard to complain though after a thrilling ending. Larkin is already a great player and is only going to get better.
