I always like playing Montreal and Toronto. Reminds me of HNIC on CBC that you can get from Detroit back in the day with rabbit ears I don't care about wins at this juncture. I do want to see the team put forth an effort and players be ready to battle at the drop of the puck. We have to start using the younger guys in key situations. We're lucky in that we're not going to be a playoff team so we can afford some on the job training. Look at Dylan Larkin this season...he's having a great season, took the team by the reins and wants the puck in ALL situations. He will be even better next season because of the experience...which I believe is only because Hank retired. Z with a bad back at 50-60% would get the nod from Bad Bench Boss Blashill over Larkin if Z didn't have to retire because of his bad back. I actually wanted Kronwall to retire but honestly he's not playing all that bad this year and we had injuries to some vets back there so the young guys get some ice-time. I do like Cholowski on the offense side of the puck but he needs to improve play in our end of the rink. He has a bad +/- at -12 but I guess understandable when you have -27 goal differential. #RedWings lines at the skate: Bertuzzi-Larkin-Nyquist Vanek-Nielsen-Mantha Helm-Glendening-Athanasiou Abdelkader-de la Rose-Ehn Frk (extra) Defense: Kronwall-Jensen Ericsson-Hronek Cholowski-Witkowski Lashoff (extra) Green (injured) skating Howard Starts

Kinda fun to watch AA score that goal. Isn't he our top scorer now? Then on the ensuing face off watch Boom Boom face down and sprawled eagle in the center face off circle. LOL

great effort again. The difference in this one is in goal again. Howard let go a couple of softies while again Niemi saved the habs big time, and that's the game. Late in the game he made a few key saves, Something Howard could only dream to... AA just proved we shouldnt trade even though he is still a major floater and only skates when he sniffs the puck ahead, other then that…Don't look at him..it aint pretty.
Mantha was good...better when he joined Larks and NY but not good enough as again we came close...but failed.
I love Cholo's game again, same for Hronek.

Does the league keep stats on teams that get scored upon in opening/closing 2:00 minutes of periods and hockey games? I was thinking about this on my way onto the office today. The last several season I noticed this trend with this team. We always get seem to caught flatfooted early/late in periods. Last night Period 2 Goal 1 :30 second mark Period 2 Goal 2 1:36 second mark Two cardinal sins under 2 minutes to start the period Then we start the 3rd giving up goal 3 19 seconds into the 3rd which proved to be the game winner. I thought we played a decent game, just some dumb rebounds and lost pucks by Howard. One thing I really like seeing last night was the physicalities. We had some pretty big hits, de la Rose, Luke with 3 big hits, Kronwall etc. NHL is still a contact sport

LOL Larkin still leading in goals with 18. With AA's 2 goals last night he is at 17 yet played 6 less games than the future captain.

I can't figure out why AA doesn't dominate more regularly with the physical tools he has. He goes from being a totally dynamic player one minute to being invisible for the rest of the game. His goals are all highlight reel goals.

His goals are all highlight reel goals. I've thought the same thing. I wonder if he gets a little discouraged at the way he's being handled sometimes? I think you put him in a different environment and he'll score 35 goals some year for you.
