Anybody like the idea of giving 3 points for a regulation win. Makes it easier to catch a team above you if your team get hot later in the season. Also teams might take more chances late in a game if it's tied. Too many teams seem to look forward to the OT and make sure they get the single point.
Food for thought.

Nah I am not a fan of current system either. A loss is loss and you shouldn't get a reward for losing in OT or SO. Win = 2 points Loss = 0 points Ties = 1 point each team No shootouts. If tied after 5 minutes of the pond hockey shinny OT you tie and each team gets a point. The league will do the 3 point for a W thing before going back to older format or do away with a shootout which I personally cannot stand that a team sport being decided by a skills competition. I don't think the league wants to make it easier to make up ground...they like the parity. The other think I wouldn't like is the point totals would be funky. Tampa, currently the best team in the league through 62 games have 47 W's...that would be a 141 point total and they still have 20 games left if they won 1/2 of their remaining games and end up with 57 W's they'd end with 171 points

agree with that. All actions should be taken to motivate teams to play for the win...
