Well the Wings have been playing better lately. Adding the 3 college guys has been a wake up call for the team. They are, however, in jeopardy of moving ahead of both Jersey and Buffalo and will miss out on a top three pick unless they get lucky in the lottery. You still get a decent guy with a top ten pick but not a guy who can play next year. Mixed feelings about this but in the end I really want them to get a top player.

Well I think it was a just result. Wings win 5-4 in OT but Buffalo gets a point. They do move one point ahead of Jersey who they play Friday night but then the Wings have Pittsburgh twice and Boston in the next three (not sure what order the games are in) before ending with Buffalo. Have to assume they won't beat Pitt or Boston they will want to win those games before the playoffs start. Hirose has a point in every game he's played.

Well we won. I cheered. Even though I didn't want to. LOL
Interesting times. Are we on the cusp of a genuine rebuild? Or many years of pain?

You know...we may not be suppose to win but ..it sure is fun to see the bunch win..and its fun to see the coaching staff FINALLY understand that it's time to play the kids in all situations, like sending on the ice Puempel, Kuffner and Hirose.
They look great, that Hirose, like i said before, is the deal, the way he played that overtime winner is NOT like a player who has no experience in the NHL...he is a great pickup by our scouting staff (sorry KH i Believe your scouts are better than you ). On that ultimat shift Hirose was absolutely great.. for a rookie.
When you look at our core; Mo, Lil Bert, AA who look awesome for 10 games now, Larks who is a true captain now with 30 goals..you think our future is bright.
Yes we are not suppose to win now..but its important to build a winning culture back again, and that is what we are doing. These Young players must not be called losers..but winners.
And we sure look like winners today even though we gave up 2 lates goals in the third, and on that equalizer Bowey was out for lunch and Howard (WHO OVERALL PLAYED WELL !!!) was too deep in his blue, gave up an easy goal i probably would have scored on him.
Fun game to Watch again...let's bring that winning culture back. Even if we finish 4th overall we can still get the top pick, there isn't much difference percentage wise between first and fourth...so
LETS GO WINGS !!!

I don't know if its no pressure since we're DOA anyway or what but we're looking promising for next season. Going on a winning streak isn't helping the cause, we're up to #4 from the bottom with the Rangers and Sabres moving into the possible mix that could push us out Draft lottery. Congratulation to Larkin hitting the 30 Goal mark. IF he doesn't have the "C" on his sweater at the beginning of next season I'll loudly complain for 82 games Now if we can get AA one more to get to 30, Mantha 1 more to get to 20 and a surprise to me Bertuzzi gets 2 more he'll reach 20 too. I honestly think we're improving by subtraction...Hank retiring then the recent injuries to vets who are out of the lineup give opportunity to kids to make a mark and some of them are taking the bull by the horns so to speak. Hirose looks to be an excellent finds...impressed with his game. Hronek is getting better and he's going to be good too, great first pass and he has some good offense. Tighten up on D he'll be a gem. If we get a a high draft pick next season is gonna be fun if the coach doesn't F up and there is a high probability for that as I can't stand the guy...he shouldn't be coaching at this level...YET. I can't even listen to his broken record repeating the same shit different day (we gotta be better in x,y, z) in his post games pressers.

i think the fact that some washed up vets are out (abby, Daley and E played 4 mins) could be one of the Reason why we look good now..

Agree with you on this. This makes me think about the upcoming expansion draft with Seattle. Teams are better prepared and remember what happened with Vegas. Detroit kept Zadina from playing more than 9 games. Smart move. Seattle won't be able to do what Vegas did. This makes me think that the Wings have an opportunity to trade at least two of the following veterans (Helm, Abby, Neilsen, Daley, and Big E) and give Seattle a 3rd round pick for each of the veterans that they take off the Wings hand. Seattle would be in favour of this to some degree as they want to get a semi competitive team and get some more picks in the process. The Wings have a number of picks over the next couple of years and by making this type of trade they free up cap space. In a couple of years the Wings could be a very good young team if things go the way we all hope.
Seattle is a multi sports town. Seahawks - NFL U of W Huskies (football is big there) Mariners - MLB NHL - soon Basketball - maybe again.
Seattle does not want to start with a team that only wins 20 percent of their games. Some of the Wing veterans could help them out in the short term.

Jarvis...nobody cares for our vets ! Not because you are an expansion team that you suddenly become stupid. Abby, Helm, Nielsen, Daley will never be trade…
..they could only be waived...or boughtout !
