Too lazy to check. Does this game have any impact on our potential draft selection ?
Anyway ..all i'm asking is a fun game ...that's all.

We're in so I think the game is meaningless. If we win and ranges lose I'm assuming ROW's is a tie breaker. If Buffalo beats us we may have #4. So 5th and 4th in sucky teams is the worst/best we can get
31 - Ottawa - 64 30 - LA Kings - 69 29 - NJ - 70 28 - Buffalo - 74 27 - Detroit - 74 -------- 26 NY Rangers
All have 1 game remaining today

Right now you have to expect the Wings to beat Buffalo and the Rangers to lose in regulation to Pitt. This would mean Detroit gets the #6 slot. If the Rangers get a point then the Wings finish #5 (if the Wings win). If the Wings lose to Buffalo then Detroit moves up to #4. Let's see how it all shakes out with the lottery process on Tuesday.
With a top 6 pick (assuming they don't fall to a worse spot like they did once before) then the Wings still get a very good player although he will not be ready to step in like a Hughes or KK.
Are the Wings due for some luck in the lottery draft?

Well I guess that's why they play the games. Both teams have been sloppy in general but Buffalo has been taking it to the Wings so far tonight 4-1 in the 2nd period. Still the Wings finished the season strong and their is hope for next season with the youth coming on this team in the next couple of years.

i can understand the need to lose this one. The standings requirement. But it didnt have to be that ugly. From the start you knew what was going on. The regular floaters were floating big time, knowing it was OK tonight, specially Mantha. And i didnt know it was a no contact game.
Yes we got that 4th lottery spot but it didnt have to be that disgraceful, Buffalo was 0-12-2 in their last 14 road games. After such a great month of march this game is exactly the feeling i didnt want to have, going into the off season. Might be a negative effect on this team.

Twas a season to forget. Strides were taken by the yutes. Many took steps forward and to be fair some of it "might" be as a result of Blashill's coaching. However some of Baldy's antics were despicable. I still hate the way he treats some of our young talent. The whole Cholowski ordeal was a disaster. The benching in Vancouver BC, the benching in bobblehead night, the swift kick in the ass to GR as soon as the kid turned 21. I can't excuse any of those. But.... we've got the bald headed c*nt with ears for another 2 years- unless Stevie comes in and makes some changes.
Maybe Blashill is good for the team? Any of you guys care for his style and coaching/development skills? I guess you can argue the point he hasn't had much to work with. Well, my opinion is that four years into the Blashill era and he looks a lot more like Ned Harkness than he does Scotty Bowman. That's how I see it. That's all until next year. Cheers mates.

One thing is for sure the Blashill extension made the Montréal hockey crowd laugh !
Here they say they've never seen a coach extended after 3 straight seasons without making the playoffs.
