Hey - looks interesting. He has a good foundation to start with. Good move. Not altogether unexpected.

I actually think Yzerman and Holland will complement each other well. Holland's strength has always been the draft. If Yzerman can swing a few deals to fill some key spots we may be on the upward move quicker rather than later.

100% Chris. Say what you want about Holland but the two of them are a fantastic team and compliment each other perfectly. The fact its the 2 of them together again that has me so excited. i dont care what anyone else says Hilland has tsken a bad rap. Was there some questionable akd some down roght bad contracts?? Sure, but look where he has this team. The young core we have now will be the cornerstone of our franchise for years to come. Welcome home captain!

They will collaborate well up until they butt heads and they will butt heads eventually. KH has plenty of experience and knowledge and not sure what the hierarchy will be but if Stevie reports to KH and KH ultimately makes the final decision then I can see some friction if that may be the case. We'll burn that bridge when we get to it, if that is how it will go. For right now, I'm a happy camper to bring the captain back and some new GM blood with different viewpoints into the DRW mix

Holland's in his mid-60's - I think he'll be more than happy to hand off some stuff to Yzerman. Holland already had the VP role and can settle into concentrating on that.

Great news for Red Wing fans. It's not just a friendly hire. Yzerman did a great job in T-bay. Nice to have him around for the upcoming draft.
Just as great coaches seem to have great teams. Great GMs seem to be able to build great teams.

I think Yzerman knows how to build a team as he was on one that took a while to add all of the right pieces together before he won it all as captain. Stevie did well building Team Canada and Tampa Bay so he'll do well here in Detroit.

www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2019/04/20/detroit-red-wings-gm-steve-yzerman-i-dont-want-fail/3528351002/Good read and I'm pretty excited, SY looks to have it all right. Now lets see it I gotta say I can be pretty crass towards KH from a far but what sticks out in this article is Yzerman saying how Kenny treats people. I'm a big believer in that it says a lot about a person. I pay attention how one treats servers at restaurants, cashiers and general public etc. I disassociate myself with those who stick their rude noses up at people. I've been in business luncheons/dinners with people of power and said to myself...fuck that guy, not worth the time of day all while watching associates and colleagues stroke egos and kiss ass --which reveals even more folks that I don't want anything to do with
