I've done my research, I rest my case. If you guys want to keep trashing Holland, go ahead. I understand trashing Holland for recent history. I don't get trashing essentially Holland's entire career. I think you guys are way off base. Sounds like Nick from the old Detroit News site. never wanted to mention that but...i am Nick.. sorry

Yzerman was capable to make moves to create some cap relief, important trades that helped. KH ? except the Stuart trade i can't remember a good one..
A few years ago we all said (including me) that Yzerman is in deep shit with the cap...but he got out of it, by trading Bishop, St-Louis (for McDonough !!...best trade ever ) and he got rid of Lecavalier nicely too..
In the meantime KH acquired Erik Cole for Janmark, Backman (never made it) and a second round pick. Janmark is still there and doing all right..
And he re-acquired Q for a FIRST ROUND PICK !!

Whatever, we have Yzerman now. It's a good thing. I'm off defending Holland's 4 cups. And looking forward to SY winning 5 more as GM.
Peace, guys .....

What’s the over/under vs. this forum’s use of the term SFY for our new GM?

By the way Shawn, please read what I post. Holland was IN CHARGE of the draft from about 1991 on. So yeah, everything was in place when he became GM. Put in place by Holland. That is WHY he became the freakin' GM. jeesh ..... Okay Mr Historic Red Wing guy Where in our history did Hakan Anderson arrive? I was under the impression that he was responsible for our Euro scouting, when we had influx of Russian and Swedish players. Its ok to have different view points but I think Kenny Holland got WAY too much credit for the success of DRW's. We won back to back cups in 97-98 and Holland GM in 97 I don't thing Holland should get any credit for that. I'm sorry but I just don't see Kenny Holland as great as people make out to be. Seriously how hard could it be in era with no cap and an owner (who didnt own the Tigers at the time) committed to winning with unlimited amounts of cash? How hard is being a GM when you have Scotty Bowman who had GM experiences and ultimately the best coach in the history of the league? I give Kenny Holland a failing grade since 2009 and I'll stick by that and also that he had it easy peasy early as GM. The name of the game is what have you done for me lately and since 2009 KH has done as little as possible, bad signing (meaning too much cap dollars to mediocre players). Spent too much effort on just being 16 of 31 and 30 teams who make the playoffs just to keep the silly streak alive yet really didnt have a team with the genetic makeup to advance at all. Lets see if he can make a difference on Long Island.

although KH, since he's acknowledge the fact that we are rebuilding, has been good. The stockpile of picks he's accumulated leaves a good legacy to SY to work with...
