why not..
lines at the skate:
Bertuzzi-Larkin-Mantha Glendening-Athanasiou-Hirose Filppula-Ehn-Erne Helm-de la Rose-Abdelkader Kuffner (extra) Athanasiou skating like he’s ready to play. Eligible to come off IR any time.
defense pairs at skate:
DeKeyser-Hronek Nemeth-Green Biega-Kaski
Looks like Bowey still the extra, but not for sure. If so, Biega (No. 3) and Kaski will be making their Wings debut tonight. Svechnikov also skating but might be an extra. Didn’t see him skating on a line. Correction: Cholowski with Bowey.

Lets keep er going and grab W 3 tonight! Its good to have AA back so maybe we can get some offensive other the top line and Glendenning Plus it looks like Bowey is in too, cool. Howard starts. Power-play units: 1. Bertuzzi (net front), Larkin (slot), Hirose-Mantha (half walls), Cholowski (point). 2. Erne (net front), Filppula (slot), Hronek-Athanasiou (half walls), Green (point). LGRW's!

My heart and to a lesser extent my mind says load the Wings entire top line PLUS Howard and Cholo. Can the big line dominate again? Ducks not bad defensively. Calgary is a bitch across the board facing an LA team while OK the first couple is expected to be near the bottom. Any advice? I know you guys don't play but obviously respect your puck knowledge. LGRW!!!

Hey WE scored an the waning minutes instead of THEM. That's something new. And it's nice to see AA in there wreaking havoc.

COME ON 19....CUT HOWARD PLEASE! Would rather watch ANY other goalie get beat like the rented mule. Realize 19 won't do it until after the season.

UNfortunately things went to hell in a flash mid third againt a team of similar power ranking at home. On to Montreal Thursday and forget that one.

Howard will be gone at the end of the year but Yzerman's hands are tied until then. A few other older players are at the end of their contracts and Yzerman will have to buy out a player or two even though it hurts the cap space for the next couple of years. Tonight was an example of only having the top line going. Anaheim wore out the Wings and at one point in the third it was 14 to 1 on shots on goal (think I heard that). Detroit will have some exciting moments this year and eventually some of the younger players will get a shot but you have to still be realistic when looking at their lineup compared to the upper level teams. That top line is fun to watch and got unlucky on the goal called back. It's good to see a line that takes the play most of the time.

some notes…
Too many costly turnovers..Green, Bert etc...
Some on D played a very bad game, thinking of Green who was a turnover machine tonight, Cholo had some problems too. The Ducks are relentless and if you are not ready you will eventually pay, we got tire at the end, tire to fight that forechecking.
The larkin goal was a good goal..that goaltender pad was outside the blue when Bert touch it. Major Momentum swing right there..
Transition game was missing in action, no cohesion between Ds and forward. Our intensity was all right though. Larkin didnt have his best game.
Anyways we work hard and i hope we learn from this lost. Its time to practice our transition game.

I guess you'll just totally forgive the unforced cough up from lil Bert that started the comeback / I forgive most turnovers. I expect the last line of defense to stop most of them. The Wings goalies were recently rated 27th in the NHL on the whole. I thought that rating was generous. On the whole they suck. No different from the last couple decades. Now cranking left wing lunatics...RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE...LOVE THEM MUSICALLY...would rather see Zac De La Rocha (sp?) in net!!! LGRW!!! As Zac says......FUCK YOU I WONT DO WHAT THEY TELL ME!!!

When you're a one line team it gets fairly easy to form a game-plan if you're the opponent. We're not going to see many nights where the score is line one 4 the other team 3. I think AA will get er going but we need some new blood to become a true top 6 forwards. What makes me sour about the mentioned goaltending is we have $7 million (3 goal Jimmy $4 mil, career backup Bernier $3 mil) tied up in mediocre quality of netiminders. I'd actually take Bernier over Howard as we know what Howard can and can't do so why bother even bother with it? I'd rather see Howard gone and we roll through with what we got with Bernier and whoever is close to being an NHL back up in the org
