Thought I'd keep the positive vibe going with this thread. LOL But really, can we beat anyone now in our current state with guy hurt and such? Maybe the GR Grifs?

Good effort..from a team who doesn't Believe it can win. There is Nothing wrong or bad about this game, we got beaten by a better team who smells confidence, and when you have a player like Ovi in the line-up the sky is the limit.
On our side eveyone played well enough..but not good enough to win, it was another close game but at 2-1..let's say that i wasn't expecting to see an equalizer.
OK the downer to this post...please Math teacher play Z with Larks at least ONE LITTLE SHIFT !!!
One more little note..Biega. Why is this guy in the line-up ? Would it be a nightmare to give his spot to Hicketts ? So at least one of our Young player in the system gets a candy ? Does anyone here believe Biega will get better by playing more ?..Maybe Hicketts will...maybe.

I know that having a few guys injured hurts out team, but does that alone make us so seriously awful out there? We've lost nine games in a row and won't see ten total wins until March at this rate. The one constant in all this losing is the guy behind the bench Jeff Blashill. El Hefe and his non-system is grinding the enthusiasm and will right out of these kids. IS it any wonder why Dats went back to Russia or Z retired early? Part of it may have been having to play for baldy. I am on the Fire Blashill train and will blow the whistle until he's gone. How bad does a team have to play to have the coach fired?

Blashill won't come back next season, but what's the point of changing him now ? To "burn" another coach into this mess is not the way to go. I Don't think any coach can turn this thing around now, its too late so.. the Math teacher is here to stay...until next summer.

my take is cut coaches loose now. The season is over, no pressure to improve buy lets get a new staff in her, get their system going and use the rest of the season as practice and start off fresh for next season hahah

I Don't think any coach can turn this thing around now, its too late so.. the Math teacher is here to stay...until next summer.\ ============================= I hear what you're saying and maybe there is no point in changing coaches now... but the winning tradition and the Red Wing Way have been all but lost under Blashill. I beleive the team is developing a lot of bad habits out there and Blashill doesn't know how to correct them. The worst of those bad habits is letting down as soon as the other team scores a goal and the other bad habit is accepting losing as a way of life. Imagine five straight years of getting your ass kicked and no one is held accountable? Coaches get canned from a team that isn't winning. Right or wrong that's how it is. By not firing Blashill it sends a message that you don't have to do a good job in the NHL- mediocrity is okay. Why just look at the coach... he's not winning but he still has his job. Baldy sure jumps on his young players to correct then when they screw up (but gives the vets a pass of course) so I would expect someone up the food chain to correct Blashill as he screws up for the fifth season in a row. If that means being fired and replaced by big Al the Zamboni driver than so be it. If Blash hasn't learned how to be an NHL coach by now he never will. So let's rip the band-aid off this wound and move on from him before he screws up any more of our youngsters. Get a real NHL coach with real NHL experience- and deep six this pretender.

ok...if we replace Blashill now…
Who is available now and is good ?
And if you find one and his results at the end of the season are as bad as the one under Blashill ...what to do you do ?? Try to find another one ?
I'm all for cutting loose with Blashill...but right now if the new coach fails we are in deep shit !

The bottom line? Without multiple FA stars going to Detroit this team will do little for the next 5-10 seasons. Even drafting near or at the top five years looks to be the minimum to put a Cup competitive team on the ice. My guess is our little group here has seen the Wings hoist the Cup for the last time. Sad but probably true. Now....will the Wings score tonight? The Isles are the best defensive team in the NHL. Pucks do bounce funny so there is hope of avoiding being shut out:)

If you do..let me know cause i want to go..Don't know when, results doesn't matter, i want to see the building..

Wont be going up again this season Pierre. May have made my last trip up. A total waste of time and money to go see either my Wings or Tigers. Will get ahold of you whenever either becomes competitive. BTW...if you go buy the cheapest tix. You can sit just about anywhere you want. The ONE advantage of having a terrible team. Mr I is sorely missed!

Every game Pierre and I have watched together recently the Wings all lost. And guess what, it was a lotta fun. So hope you think about making LCA this season. I'll be there ......

Seeing old friends is truly a blessing/fun. However money and the state of the teams prohibits many trips. If the Wings played in Indy it would be much more manageable:) To tell you the truth if the Wings or Tigers played in my town now I would not go to any games. I would meet old friends at a bar occasionally:)
