I joined the game in progress and when I saw the highlights of the first three goals it was clear the Wings had luck on their side tonight. Two deflections and one where the d-man was taken out by the linesman. Winnipeg then put on a ton of pressure and got the game to 3-2 but Zadina had a nice PP goal (slight deflection) but a nice play overall.
Bernier then made a few key saves and with the empty net Hronek went for the long bomb and shot the puck on the fly into the net from his own end on the fly (puck never hit the ice).
5-2 Wings
Lots of relief for the team.
They really miss Mantha, AA and Dekeyser. They really have no depth on this team.

Yeah I really thought they would lose their 13th in a row and then tie the record with their 14th in a row Saturday at the Bell Center. Oh well ,,,,,

Am i having a wet dream ?
Since when luck is on our side ?
Great battle from a depleted lack of structure line-up. Z is getting better as confidence is growing in himself. The fact that brass have decided to keep him around could probably be the Reason for that. 3 points tonight …
Let's not get carried away, we still look disorganized just about every where...but at least we won't break the record for the longest winless streak in Red Wings history, i didnt want to witness that live saturday in Montreal..

Blashill for "Coach of the "Year"///s Its incredible that this guy is still around...i mean..the way these players look like they are totally on their own out there, no direction, no preparation..no nothing. Only their personnal desire by most of these players. They play hard at time, but its obvious, there is no guidance… Like i said, results doesn't matter for SY at the moment. When a bunch of useless vets leave next season SY work will start..until then..it is what it is !...the worst season in the history of the Red Wings.. "...Honey !! where is my Brown paper bag ?..."

I watched a Toronto TV sports station where they talked about recent coaching changes and who might be next and they stated that Blashill is not going anywhere soon as the Wings know they are bad and are looking forward to the draft.
Next year - different story. Who knows if Blashill will be replaced at the end of the year. Pierre is correct in that the Wings have vets who just can't do it anymore. I think I saw a 2 on 2 yesterday with Helm and Neilsen going in and they went inside the blue line, dumped the puck into the corner and went to the bench. Not even a shot towards the goal.
As I have mentioned in many posts, at least two buyouts and perhaps three. A number of other vets have their contract up and they can't be renewed. At the top of the non renewal list is Jimmy Howard.
Glad for the team to get the win last next. Once Mantha, AA and Dekeyser get back they can get 2 to 4 wins a month but that's about it. In the meantime take a look at the world juniors this Christmas break as there are a few Wings picks who will be playing including Veleno (Canada) and Seider (Germany).

I didn't see it. Its harder and harder to care and hard to tune in. We're in full fledge Dead Thing era where I still support the team I watch them to see the opponent, not so much my team...sad indeed. I've watching my second team Dallas Stars since I live area and they are enjoyable to watch, have a decent, well ran team and goaltending...polar opposite of the Detroit Red Wings who honestly haven't did anything to try to improve. I hate to say this fellas but Illitch Holdings needs to pick if they want an NHL or MLB team but not both. Since Mr I died both teams suck and I'm starting to think Illitch ownership is like the Ford Family...where the team will never win until it is sold. I'm 55 and I'll probably die before the Lions ever win a Super Bowl and they won't do with the Ford owning it...such as the Wings and Tigers with the Illitches. Tigers - WS winners - Wings Cup Winners, Pistons championships, Lions have won jack shit since 56 SUCK. I hope this isnt what we have to look forward to for the Red Wings and Tigers...
