Tampa Bay just has a great game plan/coaching. Everyone moves in the O-xone and they cycle the puck around until 2 guys can collapse to the right and left sides of the crease near the goal mouth. Then the shot comes in. Saw them doing that over and over.
Our guys just stand around in the O-zone. Everyone is to the outside. You could drive an aircraft carrier up the middle of the ice and not hit any of our guys. jeesh ....

Well, Bernier kept us in the game. Other than that we sucked. If you benched all the guys that needed to be benched we could probably ice a line and a half. AA, Lashoff, Abby, even Larks are mostly invisible. Z looks like he wants to play NHL hockey. I say he's a keeper. The team needs a new message (coach). If I'm Yzerman I keep the math teacher and get the draft pick(s). Then fire him. Total roster shake up next year. I still like Glenny and Helm. For a one year deal.

Same story night after night. We seem to be playing hard ...but not in a convincing way. We know we are going to lose. Tonight Bernier was hot, it helped, Again our lack of structure and play as a unit is soooo obvious it becomes hilarious, but its not on the coach..no ..is on a roster with no talent. Yes talent is rare but i Don't see much more talent with the Sens but they play as a tight group. We Don't .. We can't complete a pass, we have an odd man rush we miss a pass, or we don't skate going into the zone..so that they catch up on the us... It is sad because i'm sure we should be better than this. This is not a roster that should finish this season with ONE OF THE WORST record of all time ! ...it aint suppose to be like this... But it is….SY has accepted it and we have to live with it till the end of this nightmare of a season. Some positive ? well Z look better again tonight. Slowly yes but he is gaining confidence, has learned how to play without the puck, is a better passer than i thought. All he needs now is to gain some weight so that he can win more puck battle. No doubt SY is about to clean-up the deck….we just have to wait and see..

Well I have been watching some of the world juniors and the good news is that the younger players today have great speed and shouldn't take so long before making an impact in the NHL. Detroit's lack of overall speed really hurts the team but over the next two years you will see a faster and younger team that at least gets to the puck more often.
I still believe we will see two or three buyouts at the end of this year. Neilsen - tops that list Flip, Abby, Helm - one of two of these guys Howard, Ericcson - both free agents and will not be signed.
Of course there are possible trades before the end of this year as well. Bernier would be a nice backup goalie for a playoff run. I don't think anyone wants Howard. Some of the experienced d-men might be moved but you won't get much for them. Even Green wouldn't command a great return. AA could bring back a high pick. The draft is supposed to be pretty deep this year. Need to take advantage of it.

i'm tire to hear about the draft .or having to wait for it. A good pick means a 5 years wait...i'm tire of waiting. We've been drafting relatively high in the last 3 or 4 years..it's time to see some results, starting next year...

I thought we played a pretty good road game. It is a shame we can't get the offense when we have good goaltending.
What I'd like to see more of is the kids getting icetime and free to learn on the job from their mistakes. No point in playing Nielsen, Filppula, Abdelkader, Daley, Ericcson, Green etc. If veterans are not in our teams immediate future then lets get those who we think may be in our future some valuable experience with little pressure...we're not going anywhere in the standings this season anyway...

We've been drafting relatively high in the last 3 or 4 years..it's time to see some results, starting next year... I agree. I'm not getting any younger. We need to start promoting some of the kids who can make an impact. Guys like Svech are at a make it or break it point in their careers. I wonder why we don't bring him up and see what he can do at the big boy level. He'll have to pass waivers next year if why try to send him to GR. Better to see what he can do before giving him away or HAVING to keep him up next year b/c we don't want to lose him and we still don't know what he can do. He's just one example. Rasmussen and Cholowski better learn something at the AHL level, they're the next two that need to make a permanent move to Detroit. I'm a patient man but I tire of seeing guys like Abby, Nielsen, Green and Daley listlessly playing b/c we can't get rid of them. It's the same old story with these over-priced, slow, and broken down vets on our team. We've had a decade of old geezers hogging roster spots. All these high draft picks- let's start seeing them on the varsity squad.
