No not hard to watch. Yes, maybe a little tough to face the reality. Holland's fault? Dunno. If the Illitch's wanted the streak over the rebuild then Stevie Y would not have done any better in the same situation.

That was so brutal to watch but so, so true. The guy's analysis was correct. Losing Yzerman was a defining moment. Losing Nill was the nail in the coffin... then Babcock... then Dats.

Yzerman’s super power is that he just freely swings deals. He has no loyalty to tenure nor the fact that he drafted somebody. The St Louis and Drouin deals are proof of how he views team first
Holland always says he’s looking long term. We’ve now reached long term and detroit fell to the middle and now they’re falling to the floor. Yzerman seems to prefer one season at a time and that maintains a more consistently competitive product right now. He also found a coach who is exactly like mike Babcock. Babcock never got enough credit for getting so many bad red wings teams into the playoffs. That same Toronto right now with Carlyle and not babcock is a dud.
You can’t pick one move or another to put detroit back into a competitive team. You’d pretty much have to change the locker room philosophy right now and completely change how you develop players.
