NHL now considering starting 2020-2021 season in December. No final decision has been made on the current season but I have my doubts it will happen. Germany (one of the better countries in handling the virus) opened up for a short period of time and now is considering locking down again due to increased cases.
If I was a betting man (not a Bettman) then I think the league is going to cancel this season and hope to have a shortened following year. The draft is supposed to take place in June but I have not heard anything about the lottery winner or when that will happen.
Hope everyone is well and staying safe.

it's a nonsense to even consider re-starting the season. No other league is even thinking about it.. The draft should be a lot easier to deal with. Nobody in the stands, everybody 6 feet apart. No problem. The lottery could be a different thing, just use the current standing and consider it as a final.
Right now hockey is the least of my concerns. I haven't my daughter and grand son since early march....that's a concern.
cheers...

Bettman: NHL plans to finish suspended season www.yahoo.com/sports/bettman-nhl-plans-finish-suspended-175108150.htmlWTF? Then normal PO's too? They'd play until mid-September. Then the lucky team that gets to hoist the cup also gets to start playing hockey again in 3 weeks. I think it has to be hollow rhetoric on Bettman's part. I just don't see how that is going to work.

I sent this email to the league today:
*******************************************************************************************************************************************************
Dear NHL,
I'm reading it's under consideration the subject season will continue in a play off format with no additional regular season games to be played. If that is the case could the league PLEASE announce the balance of the regular season has been CANCELLED. I hold tickets to a regular season game that will likely never be played. I can't obtain a refund because the game I was to attend has never been formally "cancelled." I have to believe there are thousand or perhaps millions of hockey fans such as myself that could be in a similar situation.
So we, the fans, are holding the money bag while the league has taken months to decide what to do. I'm lucky to still be working but I took a 20% pay haircut in the face of the Coronovirus pandemic. I could use the money. I have to believe others were not so lucky.
Thank you for your consideration, Chris

OK - I got this from Ticketmaster today. This is rich:
Unfortunately, the event organizer has had to cancel your event. Arizona Coyotes vs. Detroit Red Wings Don’t worry — there’s nothing else you need to do. Quick Note: Since your tickets were transferred to you, meaning you didn’t purchase them from Ticketmaster, the refund will be given to the original ticket purchaser. Thanks for your patience and understanding. We look forward to gathering and celebrating the live experience together again.

OK we'll see what Stub Hub now has to say as the actual purchase was through them.
Jeesh
