Can we tank it for better draft lottery odds? This team isn't going anywhere will miss the playoffs. Just play the kids, give them freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. You never know, we might get lucky with a prospect with ice in his veins and can produce. We have 1-2 too many vets playing who really shouldn't be playing and a coach behind the bench who should have been gone 2-3 seasons ago. Stevie Y I guess isn't all that great of a GM but he's handcuffed. Give him a few more years before I start tanning his hide lol.
edit...forgot to mention this. Please BURN those retro sweaters. I can live without seeing those another game. Once was enough, back to back nights was one too many.

The nice thing about this game is that you can speculate that the Wings will have a Tampa type team down the road. Yzerman already drafted the big D-man who is still playing in Europe. He should be with the big club next year as he has to learn the NHL game.
T-bay is a solid team and, by the way, they are missing Kucherov who is deadly on the PP. He might be back in time for the playoffs.
Wings will be trading guys but it's a matter of when. Say goodbye to Glendenning, one or two veteran d-man and possibly B. Ryan. A goalie could be gone as well. Helm, Neilsen and Flipper will not be back. Next year will be a more youthful team and hopefully much better and certainly more promise.
Also heard that the NHL draft will probably not be pushed back. There was thought of moving it to the fall but it looks like July 2021.

Wings lose in OT 4-3 Take the point but you could see the talent difference every time T-bay rolled out a new group of 3 in the OT. Stamkos came out as part of the third group of 3. Greiss had a decent game but the first two stars still go to T-bay players. The third star was "the horn" that kept going off in the first period. It really slowed the Bolts down...ha ha.

the trademark of a losing team. Bad goal to tie, Greiss might have played a decent game but no way should he have allowed that tieing goal. The shooter was on an angle, nowhere else could he go other thant to shoot..but Greiss is a loser what else can you say about him ?
...and sloppy floating change by Gagne in OT to give a 2 on 1..and Hronek played that 2 on 1 like its not a 2 on 1 !! And Ryan didn't snif the ice late in the game and in OT ? Was he injured ?...he's been terrible for a few games now...dunno about him.
Again in OT you stick with your best 4 forward and best 2 Ds...Larks, MO, Fabbri and Nametsnikov and that's it. Again our beloved coach tried to mixed up lines in OT ...
Overall it was again a decent effort, not an over the top effort but at least it seems that they care..
