Dylan Larkin: 19 points in 20Games Anthony Mantha: 19 Points in 20 Games Mike Green: 17 Points in 20 Games
Only Scott Wilson, Booth, and Witkowski - ostensibly the alternate players, are averaging less than ten minutes per game.
Ideally, I suppose, you have more than just Nick Jensen with 6 assists as the second most productive defenseman. However, there has been a lot of winning without Danny Dekeyser who is supposed to be the best overall defenseman on the team.
11 forwards, 7 defensemen. It seems the closest constant for Blashill May Be to keep Helm and Nielsen together, especially since with Glendenning, they shut down Kane and O’Reilly
Pro of 11 forwards is certainly the freedom to improve matchups since several players, apparently Mantha, Athanasiou, Larkin and Zetterberg primarily, will be double shifted. Con is that the throwaway shifts now go to a defenseman.
Correlation: power play in the last week and a half has improved to 7th and so has penalty kill. Offense overall is 11th and goals against 14th.
A deliberately imbalanced lineup has had the effect of improvement. Babcock ran the top powerplay his last year in detroit with one pointman. Now every team does that. Perhaps 11 forwards will become the norm for teams like Detroit as a way to hide a lack of balanced scoring

We really miss Frk on the power play. Our horses are Larkin, Mantha and AA...let em run free Howard is playing outstanding. Mrazek shouldn't see too many games.. we need ROW's and points. We need a winning streak greater than 2 games, we havent won 3 in a row this season yet...lets start tomorrow against Colorado.

No doubt about ROW - - the Wings inept performance over the last several years reflects prominently with that specific stat.
Currently about eighth in the Eastern Conference.
Core Players must deliver results over the last Three-quarters of the season without a burn-and-crash performance in the final month of the season (which has been highly evident over the last several years).
At the present time - - Wings are tracking for 90 points (or less) given their historical flame-outs in the final month.

Really got no thoughts but I do believe that this current stretch is consequence of lack of Witkowski spark. Somebody on the team needs to fill that void, even a brief callup of Tyler Bertuzzi would be a great idea but Ken Holland has always thought Justin Abdelkader is that guy even though he’s never shown it
Goaltending is still a good sign but it’s about the only one
Speaking of goaltending: reading a lot of speculation that players of all ranks are on the verge of wanting out of Montreal, citing what sounds like ownership interference in the path of the team which quite clearly disrupted it from even serious playoff contention. This includes Carey Price. Detroit clearly doesn’t have the pieces to make a major trade though

Carey Price i believe has some ego problems. Bergeving love to make a splash...he is not KH, when things aren't going the way they should he will make trade. But how can you trade Price ? 10.5m cap hit ?? Pacioretty could be an easier player to trade By the way the Habs are just 4 points behind us...

Contracts aren’t untradeable. Every deal that’s untradeable gets moved. Arizona or Winnipeg would be the perfect resting place for Price’s career considering they’re the only budget teams left and 1 10 mill cap hit is 4 skaters they don’t have to pay. Skimming SB Nation and the headline is “Bergevin to Make Another Bad Trade?” Bergevin is not Holland but he is a big fan of making a deal for the sake of making a deal. Nashville will be thanking him for Subban for a long time. Getting Paciorettty is on paper a much more attainable thing. Ken Holland hasn’t turned some 20 goal men into 30 goals since Primeau and aciffey got moved to get Shanaham. Bergevin loves bad deals

That would be lunacy! Even if he traded those three what he would get back would not help the team much now nor put anymore butts in the seats. To tell you the truth I do not even know if the games are sold out and like the Joe people simply not going or if sales are way down? Whatever the case unless they can get top 10 or better picks trading any of those three would be foolish. They need to eat some of the vet contracts just to play more young men. They picked a terrible time to build a new arena. That place will be half empty for years. Same as the team. The Cap killed the Wings! Sure there are other factors but the Cap is number one! LGRWS!!! They need to suck for years to become a contender again. My Colts here need to lose the rest of their games this year to get a top pick next year. Lastly...what vets would ANY other team want? ANY?

That is idiotic talk. Those 3 are all we have. I said this several times now, Mantha, Larkin and AA should all play on the same line and be the only 3 players we are not willing to trade. They are keepers and should be untouchables.
Tatar, Nyquist, Nielsen, Green, Abby, Ericsson, Mrazek are not worth their cap hits. The first 4 are 6 million dollar men. Shit, throw Howard in the mix...what do we have 9 million for netminders? 4-5 million sitting the bench is not wise cap management.
