Got outworked for most of the game. Terrible effort defensively by Mantha on the first goal and AA on the second goal. If Glendening scores 2 minutes in, could have been a different game. Bottom line, the best team won.

i think the kid line won't stay together very long. They still look good together but Z without Mantha is not as good as he can be. The line Z-Gus-Tats doesn't work, Z needs to be with Mantha and it doesn't matter who plays with AA cause he likes to carry the puck and doesn't really look around to see if someone is open.
Our effort was not enough, at times the Sens toyed with us. The problem is still the same, we can't generate any transition game, when we are stuck in our zone its painful to watch.
It's time to give some playing time to Mrazek now...

This is how boring we are to watch for me. I'm was wore out but didn't think I was that tired. I fell asleep towards the end of the first, woke up some time in the second, fell back asleep, woke up with 2-3 minutes in what I though was the third period and went to bed. I looked at the clock and it wasn't even 9:00 PM CT...turns out it was it was end of the second period and not the third after checking the score on my phone...I didn't get up to watch it as they would put me back to sleep and I didnt want to sleep on the couch haha.
Hank is too old...I hate to say it but he needs to be moved to the wing...he's pretty bad on the defensive side of the puck in our own zone. We can't pass the torch to Tatar and Nyquist, sorry they're just not that good. Larkin, Mantha and AA are the horses that need to be rode hard and used more that any other forwards.
If we can't beat a mediocre team that has the flu bug going through their roster we are pretty bad. We'll be about a .500 team, finish with 80 points or so and miss the playoff for the second straight year. Only thing to look forward to is a shake up in management..either KH, Blashill or both have to go.
Reality bites sometimes...but I'll keep watching and rooting...sucking wont change that...I'm still a Lions fan haha

they talked about our inability to go to the net, to win battles around the net. It was obvious late in the game trying to get the equalizer. We came close but our small forwards cannot get to any lose pucks.
I know its impossible to make a trade..for two reasons; dumb contracts and...KH !
But we need to trade one of our small forward Tats or NY. We need help on the defense, maybe one of these two can help a team..maybe.
Abby was on the ice in the dying minute last night and Larks wasnt...any explanation ? Whats the point of playing Abby Under these circumstances ? vn

We really need a stud defenseman. We'll have Green's $6 mil next season so may as well package wither Nielsen or Tatars 6 mil, Abby too into the deal and go after someone...it there are any that want to be dealt. Problem is no one wants our guys for their current price. Bad deals because KH can't be creative or let someone walk when they should have let them walk.
Abby wearing the "A" is just silly, yeah he's a great cheerleader but that is the only leadership trait he has unless you call taking stupid penalties at the worst times of games or leading by the number of times he falls down lol.

There was a time when Abby was a decent hockey player, game in and game out, and I felt he would develop into a real leader for this team. His performance in the past couple of seasons has deteriorated in a notable way. The Datsyukian effect? But, then again, we have seen regression from virtually every player on this team.
Even the young guys who have made progress are, in my opinion, just scratching the surface of their potential.

Yes I agree that one of Tats or Q has to be traded. You can keep one smaller forward for the power play but two on the same line and they get pushed around too much. Even Gretzky stated that he would not be effective in today's game due to his size. As Pierre stated we'll find out a lot about this team when they go on this west coast trip.

Edmonton, Vancouver and Calgary are far from power houses in the league so this road trip has little meaning..they are like us. The trip will only prove if we suck more that they do hahah. Columbus is our next tough opponent but thats a home game
