The 10-9-and-5 Detroit Red Wings will attempt to snap a 4-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Kings this evening and the Wings will have a stiff task ahead of them as the 13-8-and-3 Los Angeles Kings are also struggling.
The Wings will play 7 or their next 8 at home. Got to take advantage of that.
Nyquist-Zetterberg-Booth
Tatar-Larkin-Mantha
Helm-Nielsen-Abdelkader
Glendening-Athanasiou-Wilson
Frk left midway through practice.
Funny to see Booth up there. Between you and me he got Lucky on both of his goal. I'm not sure he was the deflector on the first, Glenn might have touched it too. And on the second the puck when right to him, for an easy one.
DeKeyser-Green
Ericsson-Jensen
Kronwall-Ouellet
Daley-Witkowski (extras)

4-3-4 at LCA isn't a good home record Those lines make little sense but hey, we're used to that. AA between slugs yet again on the 4th line. I'm not expecting too much tonight actually...frustrated with this coach

i hate to see AA on the 4th line...
...but between you and me does he deserve better ?? I question his intensity sometimes. If he sees a lose puck He will try to go from both end of the rink in one stride, most of the time with very little succes.
His overall game is not there yet, floating too much at time to my liking.
Spectacular yes but lazy and Dangerous defensively yes also...

in other note...AA might be playing on the 4th line but still log decent TOI recently. All of that because the PP time and 11th forwards..

With Booth in and Daley out, we are playing 12 forwards, 6 dmen I think. Booth on a first line because "he skates hard and competes" according to Blashill. So, this is another indirect shot at Mantha. AA on a 4th line between scrubs, no wonder he did not want to sign for so long.

AA has made some pretty bad turnovers but he's not alone in that regard really. I still want to see him with Larkin and Mantha. With their speed they can force a lot of turnovers on the forecheck and Mantha can finish it.

I prefer 3 bad line that can't score and one great line that can over 4 lines that can't score.

1-0 with 2 minutes and change left in the 2nd period...we go to the room down by 1...yet another goal in the final seconds of a period.

Losing streak reaches 5.
Quick made the saves, Jimmy didn’t.

Mantha floated again. Larks had one of his worst game of the season.
We started every PP with Z-NY-Abby Tats-Kroner and it NEVER work !
Quick was incredible but overall the Kings were relentless on the forecheck and were the more intense of the two.
We deserve what we go and since the building is empty..why should I worry for this team when the locals don't !!

I thought we played well for the first 30 minutes. Larkin should have made it 2:0 and with the Kings struggling offensively, that would have been enough probably. It was still OK until Helm took an ill advised penalty with 20 seconds to go in the second. After 3:1, Kings went into a trap and with Quick there, we could not create anything.

The highlight reel play for me was Helm overskating the puck when he would have had a clean break-away from the blue line.

Mantha look terrible. I mean watching him last night told me their is something wrong. Lazy as hell, refuse to give an extra push on every one on one situation.
Man..send Mantha a tape of this game and tell him to atch how the Kings were buzzing around, forechecking relentlessly.
Right now i cant watch the big guy….if he wouldnt be full of talent i probably wouldnt be as hard on the guy as i am….

I was beat last night and went to bed before the start of the third. Was busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest at work today so didn't even check the final score until late afternoon. Losers as expected. Yeah, I'm just sick to death of the PP with Hank, Boom Boom and Nyquist. When is the last time that line scored a PP goal? Probably the last time one went in off Abby's behind. Why is Mantha looking so bad? Not happy to be here? AA, same thing?
