Looks familiar right ?
Red Wings lines/D pairs at practice:
Nyquist-Zetterberg-Abdelkader
Tatar-Larkin-Mantha
Helm-Nielsen-Glendening
Booth/Bertuzzi-Athanasiou-Frk
DeKeyser-Green Ericsson-Daley Kronwall-Jensen Ouellet-Witkowski
The Detroit Red Wings face a particularly stiff task in battling the Boston Bruins this evening
Boston has won 4 of its past 5 games and 8 of its past 10, while the Red Wings have dropped both 9 of 10 (1-5-and-4) and have dropped out of the Atlantic Division playoff race...sort of.

I have no expectations really. They are my team and I'll continue to watch them like a car wreck you can't take you eyes off of. Part of me wants to see them tank so we can fire Blashill or Holland or both. I honestly don't believe we're as bad of a team as we are and I feel with a better coach, new outside people, fresh blood in GM, management and personnel we have decent talent to be a playoff contender (not a cup contender) and not a basement dweller we've became. Honestly we need to end as low as we can to retain higher draft picks for a few seasons. It appears the Grand Rapids talent well has ran dry. As long as 19,510 keep showing up at LCA nothing is going to change.
The reason why I hate the 3 parity point games is going 1-5-4 can be spun positive as getting 5 of possible 10 points instead of 2. We 11 wins and 19 losses...ouch!

2 blown leads....tied in the final minute of the 3rd to force OT. As soon as I saw Z, Kronwall and Nyquist started in OT we were toast.
We played another solid game and should have 2pts and a ROW.
This team is cursed

Wings up 2-1 with 5 minutes left. In years past you could count on the Win most of the time. However you almost anticipate the other team tying up the game and winning in OT or shootout. It happened again tonight. Give Jimmy Howard some credit. He played a decent game but he is not the type to steal one.
What I don't understand most is when the other team pulls the goalie and it's a 6 on 5, the Wings collapse everyone and don't put any pressure on the puck. I see other teams be more aggressive in this situation. It's not the same as a normal power play.
Also, as much as I'm not a fan of the NBC hosts; they did mention a few key points such as not making teams pay a price when standing in the crease area and doing an icing when not pressured late in the game.
Wings now one regulation win in the last 11 games.

We lose every game the same way, so frustrating. We have to be the worst team in the last five years 5 on 6. We are going 3 on 2 on an empty net and do not even try to score, but just dump the puck. And, of course Z and Nyquist end up behind the opposing net in OT allowing 2 on 1. AA plays 10 minutes, Helm 20.

Why Z in OT ?? What was he doing behind the net when NY was struggling with the puck and we were making a change on D ?? Isnt he suppose to be a smart veteran ? Who send Z on the ice in OT knowing he can't play with that kind of ice the deal with, he cant skate he shouldnt be there in OT. Our best OT sequences was when AA and Mantha were on the ice. Why not play them a lot This is a bit discuraging, we fought hard again but that coach made countless little mistakes to destroy everything.

and Z had all the time in the world to clear the puck on the tieing goal, he was behind the net and just flipped the puck ahead...to a Bruin.. ..again what was he doing on the ice ? Critical bad décisions..again.

the brass sees a good effort and sadly for them this is good enough to keep Blashill around.
i think the brass, even KH, cannot evaluate the quality of this coach. All they see is "good effort, meaning the message still comes across"
i'd be practical for the brass to notice that the coach is making countless mistakes and the result of that, specially in a close game, is another lost.
But the effort is there so that's all they care it seems.

I think the last 2 games we would have won if we had better coaching who knows when and where to use players and when not to. I love Hank, he has the heart of a lion but he's not 28 anymore. He was a -3 last night, on the ice for all 3 goals against. In overtime where there is so much space you need you faster skaters, Hank and Kronwall are not speedy and can NOT close gaps fast enough when you're playing shinny in OT. Stevie Wonder could see this so why can't Blashill?
As I was watching this game I said to myself the only way we win is if Howard gets a shutout. After Boston first goal I said we'll lose in OT but Larkins shortie gave me hope...but too much time on the clock.
This team is finding all the bad ways to lose a hockey game...damn shame because we played some good hockey the last couple of games.
