dunno but..the last lost was the most painfull lost of the season as far as i'm concern.
I had some hopes..maybe i'm being naive.
I Wonder how they can overcome this kind of lost. Looking back, even in our A days i don't remember a lost with less than 10 seconds to play..
anyways..more to come...i hope !

The Wings face a hell of an opponent in the Boston Bruins this evening
The 31-11-and-8 Bruins sit a full 20 points ahead of the Red Wings, and they’ve won 7 of their past 8 games, including a 4-1 win over the Maple Leafs this past Saturday; tonight’s starter for the B’s, Tuukka Rask, is on an 16-0-and-2 run, and against Detroit, Boston boasts a stunning 12-1-and-1 record, having last lost to the Wings on Valentine’s Day, 2016.
Not too long ago they weren't that good, they fired their coach and now this....can we be like this next season ? Can i dream ?

Boston has been on fire and are 5 points behind Tampa Bay and have 3 games in hand. Tonight will be a tough one for us. As always I have little expectations.
Pierre, I hate losing but I can't single out any of them as being any more painful than any other loss. There is really little variances in the patterns of mediocrity we've shown for the last couple of seasons, win a couple, lose a few, win, lose, win lose and rinse and repeat. Nothing will change unless the brass make some changes. We need new outside blood in either GM, coach or both. I'm too much of a fan to root against the Wings but unfortunately that mentioned change will not happen unless we REALLY sink further into the basement of leagues bottom feeders.

Agree with everything, but with the stupid lottery draft, tanking sadly doesn't guarantee a top pick.

I was thinking more in terms of internally and not so much of the draft lottery. We need change and it seems the only way we get in terms of GM or coach is to totally fail...we're in the progress right now but as long as we hover around 80-85 points at the end of 82 (to me sucky). The thing is we could probably have 10-15 more points if we had a coach who effectively utilizes he bench assets.
I wanted Blashill gone after last season. I believe you and I talked about Gallant coaching here during that time. In hindsight we missed an opportunity...look at the success Vegas is having and even Dallas since rehiring Ken Hitchcock (whom you're not a big fan of).

Boston is actually one of the rare positive examples of a rebuild on the fly I guess that KH is advocating. Kind of interesting they are doing so well after some horrible trades they made (Seguin) and I do not think they have any top 10 picks on their roster either.

Per Khan's Twitter feed:
Howard to start.
Helm a game time decision.
It was an optional skate this morning so no line assignments as of yet.

We're probably going to get killed. But I'll be watching .... from behind the couch.

Yeah and now we are behind and have to fight from behind, again, in the third.
Can Blash just, like, disappear or something? How do we hang a set of balls on Holland, anyway?

So our "leadership" players, the C and the A's, I just looked up some stats. 16 goals COMBINED in roughly 50 games. WTF? What did they say about Boston? 37 goals from rookies?

And that escalated quickly. All ground gained lost easily.

What i saw today was a total mess. No structure, no plan, no direction..
...but an intense group !
Try to understand that.
I'm telling you again, they are intense not because of the coach but the logo in front. This team doesn't have a plan, people skating into each other, bumping, not knowing where to go. A total mess.
I fell bad for Z. Great warrior who look totally lost out there.
