it's going to be a defenseman. Bogvist, Bouchard, Hughes any of those players we cannot go wrong...

It has to be a defenseman, that is the #1 gaping hole since #5 retired. Hopefully a right handed player or two  Hoping for the best, expecting the worse so I won't be disappointed. |

Shawn in this draft KH cannot go wrong. Even i would be a Genius with this kind of talent in the first round.
What i worry though is another dumb vet signing...that's my main concern. Anyone of the top ten prospect is a sure lock to make the NHL eventually. I wouldnt be surprise to see our first pick make the Wings roster nexty season.

The draft is one of the few things I still trust with Holland. Plus like Pierre said it's hard to go wrong with this pool and our positioning.

I wouldnt be surprise to see our first pick make the Wings roster nexty season. same here....l don't want to see trading of picks to get Vanik back or Kovalchuk. if we have a decent nucleus of talent then I'd be all for addin a vet...I don't want aging vets to be the nucleus who prevent us from signing our own RFA's who we need to take car of first I still having issues with our coach and GM so I'm keeping expectations on player selection in the draft, getting Larkin, Mantha and AA signed. |

well i have some weaknesses...Tomas Vanek.
I'd make an exception with him lol...the guy scored 24 goals last season for 56 pts. He can still put the puck in the net and if i'm correct was the only one who could make AA going.
A cheap contract certainly wound hurt our roster plans...i think.
What i'm totally against though is the kind of contract Neilsen got...

You know your DRW destination isn't all that attractive if you have to seal it with NTC's and we have a bunch of them that seem to handcuff us in the future.

Vanek cannot or never did ask for a NTC. He was moved at TDL the last 3 or 4 years !
I think KH reads the sports papers. A NTC in the future is something a player will have to earn before getting one,
Pipe dream..i hope not lol
one more thing...i just love the way Vanek can put the puck in the net. He's got a magical stick, fun to watch...

I've seen him play a few time last season. We all know we need defense but this guy is Something else.
I suspect that if he is still available at number 6 (and Quinn is gone..cause KH won't bypass a Michigander) he might become a Red Wings

A pick for the later rounds and would be a steal in my opinion is Bulat Shafigullin.
