OK let's see how much time off the effing Pens get before the next round. Sorry, I'm still real sour on the 2009 series.

Pens in 5 or 6.
They knock Detroit off the list of being the last team to win back to back stanley cups.
The writing is on the wall, the coincidences Pittsburgh had gotten this year are similar to 2009 gift of coincidence. Bottom line is when the going gets tough in the playoffs for Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins --- the League steps in and helps em out.

What a crazy game 1. Predators control the first 10 min and score a well deserved goal that was disallowed by coach's challenge on a 1mm offside that had nothing to do with a goal (that rule has to change imo). Right after Pens get 5 on 3 for 2 minutes. With 20 seconds left on it Crosby clearly interferes with Nash dman, no call and Malkin scores. Soon after 3:0 on 5 shots on goal. In the second period and in the first 16 minutes of the third period Penguins had...zero shots on goal. Nashville totally dominated, made 3:3 and then Gentzel scored on a first shot in 37 minutes. Rinne must be better for Nashville to win. So, Pens won the game with 12 shots on goal for the whole game which is NHL playoff record I think (or maybe finals record)

The 2 penalties called simultaneously giving Pittsburgh a full 2:00 of 5 on 3 was bullshit.
The goal waived off was the right call based on the rule but I hate that kind of a challenge. If a replay review negates a goal due to a play being off-sides then maybe the linesman should be fined for missing the play.
In order to beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs you have to play a perfect game, stay out of the box and don't expect any power plays in key games but expect Pittsburgh to get whatever they need in terms of power plays.
I really have gotten a bad attitude towards Pittsburgh but too much coincidence in their success. I don't want Crosby to join Yzerman and Towes captaining 3 cups nor do I want then to knock Detroit out of being the last team to win B2B cups

I did not see most of the game but I see from the comments above that it's still a Bettman and Crosby run league. When I joined the game it was 3-2 and the Preds tied it up. I thought I saw a clear penalty on Pitt a few minutes later and the announcer said the Nashville player was complaining about it. (note- I was watching the CBC feed). Point is that Nashville are not going to get any breaks in this series but I still think they are good enough to win.

What a time to have goalie issues. Rinne was supposed to be a strength of the team and he lets in 3 in under 4 minutes to start the 3rd. Looked like Howard when he was in his funk. Something goes a bit wrong and he couldn't adjust to make the save.
Pens are in the driver's seat but a game three win by Nashville can turn things around. Here's hoping.

And Nashville found a way to lose another game in which they outplayed the opponent for the first 2 periods. Then allowed 3 goals in the first 3 minutes of the third.
I guess lack of experience shows. And Rinne has been awful. How could the first goal go in? And terrible rebound on a second goal at which point Pens smelled blood.
And who is this guy Gentzel?! And Jarnkrok is playing second line center now without Johansson? And PK and looking good.

I didn't get to see any of last nights game...wow...Rinne gives up 3 in the 3rd and gets yanked. Yep, you have to play near perfect hockey to beat Pittsburgh and the NHL and that is far from perfect 2 days off again for travel..

I have to admit I am very impressed with the atmosphere created in Nashville, you really want to be there for these finals. I think Rinne will determine the outcome at this point. He was terrible in games 1-2 and great in 3-4.

Game 5 3-0 for Pitt after one period. It's not all Rinne's fault but if Nashville does go to a game 7 in Pittsburgh then you can't put him in net. It's just not working out there.

Did you see in the first period Crosby grabs/hugs Subban behind the net, throws him to the ground and starts hitting his head to the ice maybe 5 times in a row and....they both got matching minors.

Did you see in the first period Crosby grabs/hugs Subban behind the net, throws him to the ground and starts hitting his head to the ice maybe 5 times in a row and....they both got matching minors. I didn't see it. But tonight I was at a restaurant with lots of TV's sitting outside with my wife. She's watching a TV over my shoulder that I couldn't see. A very intent look comes over her face and then she says "I hope that guy gets suspended." So sure enough I swing around and it was a replay of the incident described by V. So I told her what it was and she said "no wonder everyone hates Sid and the Penguins.
