‘Harking’ back from the DeadWings era to the current ‘NedWings’, WTH happened to Darling Bowman’s CBHs?? At the moment they’re power ranked (aptly described) behind the DRWs. Like KH in the free-spending era Stan The Plan Bowman seemed to have the cap era figured out. Or has he/they just rode their lottery draft core as far as they could take them and he’s the newest new KH? Is this enough ‘proof’ that KH should clean house at the deadline, nosedive to the bottom and hold on to the bottom to his last breath while attempting to come up with a Penguin-Blackhawk-like blue chip core? Then yes, be really bad so you can get really good !!!

Just saw an article with the Leafs picking up Muzzin on defense. The article suggests that this will be the start of an arms race. So...Mr. Holland, it's time to make some trade and gets some picks and prospects. Trade Howard.....St Louis is looking at him. Trade any of the older forwards. Don't need to get much as you have too many of them and you can't keep them all if you want a true rebuild. Consider trading the following: Nyquist - He is a UFA and he can provide scoring depth if he plays on the 3rd line for some team. AA - his name is coming up in trade talks and his contract will be soon as well. If the price is right then do it.
Wings need to get more picks and more prospects. They can add a UFA or two to fill in some gaps but overall it's time to sell.

They might trade Howard cause of his age and his contract is up… BUT ...for the rest i Believe KH thinks we will be back in force next season if we get the first pick in june 2019. SO Unless an irresistible offer i think Gus is here to stay, same for AA. But Howard is a goner...until july when KH resign him…! The logic move this summer would be for KH to resign, sign with Seattle, we hire SY and he then might trade GUS….

I find it hard to believe ANY team wants Howard. St Louis? Why would they want him?

KH will stand pat at trade deadline and only will accept offers you cannot refuse. I think Howard may not be moved unless a team is entirely hosed with primary and back up injuries he'll get grabbed for a rental with no intentions on re-signing. But to be honest if we trade Howard who will be our starter? do we have our eyes on goaltenders in the draft?
I think Nyquist will be more attractive to other teams that are missing a playmaker/scorer piece of their puzzles to either make the playoffs or to carry them further in the playoffs. I've always liked Gus and his current deal is with it for me if it was my money but I'd be fine moving him, Howard too. I'm in a transition phase whereby I'm totally cool trading/buying out/waiving anyone other than Larkin, AA, Cholowski etc...maybe Mantha too.

Bobrovski in Columbus is a UFA if I recall. That would be a serious upgrade over the current goalies. Some have rated him as a top three in the league although a lot depends on the defense in front of you. Howard is making 5 million a year. Not sure what it would take to get Bobrovski. Wings are supposed to have a lot of cap space next year. Wings would have to sign him to a long term deal to make it worthwhile (at least 5 years). Wings will be good in a year or two and you don't want your backstop leaving at a critical time.
Another thing that KH has to look at is T-bay is going to have huge cap problems in the next year or two and they are loaded throughout their system. Expect them to bring up some young guys. Maybe target their RFA's as well as any UFA's.
Kenny H, your need to be doing your homework. This is a critical year for the Wings to turn things around.

Do you have an idea how much it will cost for ANY team to sign Bobrovski ? He currently has a 7.4m cap hit ! So i presume he wants a raise…
8mil ? ….9 ? No way should he rebuilding team invest that kind of money on a goalie…
But i'd love to see him with the Wings..but why would he sign with us ? He probably will pick a team with a better chance to win...and a lot of cap room !

Didn't realize that he is making that much. Wonder who will sign him if he leaves the CBJs.

SB is over 30. No way the Wings should pay ANY goalie past his prime.

About Vanek now...
Obviously no contract extention on the table for him.. it's been a terrible season for him, due in part by that leg injury that derailed everything, before that everything was all right, made us believe he would have a good season.
Since then he's been terrible...and i'm a fan.
He's been trying to do too much, passing when he should be shooting, trying to be too cute all the time, passes that get picked up because of that. On the positive side of it he's been intense, more both ways then he's ever been before, trying to find a way to help the team by putting extra effort on his defensive game
But he's not going to get another contract....an upcoming tri p to the KHL for Tomas...too bad i like him, i like him cause he is a good teamate, a good guy for the fans, i like to see him wearing the Winged Wheel..
Unless he accept minimum wages and minimum icetime is time with the Wings is coming to an end...

Long Season finally over. 74 points -- what I expected.
Young-Gun Forwards are showing promise on scoring Goals, but to make the Team's Presence known in the Playoffs - - it requires a reversal of the Ratio of GF to GA.
Something like 277 GF to only about 227 GA. Look at the Ratios of the Lightening, Caps, Pens, Leafs, and the Jets - - all have such ratios. Look at past seasons - Cup Contenders have that type of Ratio.
If the Wings' management is serious about becoming a Cup Contender, and not a Cup Pretender - - It's time for Fresh Eyes at the top level of management to sign those top two key Dmen.
Holland has overstayed his time in the SPOTLIGHT. Ever since the Wings lost to the Pens in the Cup Finals - - Holland has made too many Blunders and Major Missteps in Free Agency Signings.
KH should be held ACCOUNTABLE. He holds Players accountable for lack of performance. Why not the GM?
Time for KH to GO.
